Those commercials are annoying the crap out of me. But I'm not used to watching commercials anymore in general so :p

I want a feature length film.

Advert line: "Pardon me, do they have any Grey Poupon in hell?"

I thought Ang Lee was favored along with Spielberg. Oh well, I haven't seen the film yet.

That wasn't that surprising. I figured going in that it was down to Argo or Life of Pi for Best Picture, and Pi is still probably the only one that could upset. Ang Lee is definitely an Academy darling.

I suppose that's a fair assessment, but I was still pretty surprised. Or I guess blindsided if there was that much "well duh" about it.

Okay, is the darn thing over yet? I just got back from church. Hmm, not yet. Well, if I was invested here I'd stay up and get the winner announced tonight. Unlike all the celebrities at the Oscars, I actually have to work tomorrow. Winner of the contest will be announced tomorrow; let's say noonish.

Were you rooting for someone in particular? I was semi rooting for Spielberg but really thought Affleck deserved it, so...

Hooray for Jennifer Lawrence. Impossible not to love that woman. Aaaand then she fell. That was so perfectly her :p

I was well into the Spielberg camp, and barring that even though I haven't seen Argo I would've been down for an Affleck win, he does good work.

I don't know why you're surprised by that Stephen. She was the odds-on favorite.

I was just holding out hope that they'd go for the actual best performance and give it to Jessica Chastain. I do this every time. And they always break my heart. :p

I guess I'm just pretty realistic. But in fairness, I thought Jennifer Lawrence was great. I thought Chastain was good but actually a bit overrated.

Daniel Day-Lewis, to no one's surprise, deservedly becomes the only actor to win Best Actor three times. Great work. And holy crap, a sense of humor! He seems to have definitely lightened up a bit over time. Which is good, because full method on this one would have ended badly :p Phenomenal performance.

Can we officially give Day Lewis the best joke of the night award for that Thatcher line?
