Welcome to the new Sci-Fi & Fantasy Books and Comics Forum! We are so excited to bring this to the forums. We hope you share in this excitement and enjoy discussing anything and everything to do with the two genres from the current times to as far back as you can go.

Star Wars discussion is permitted in so far as it relates to something from the aforementioned genres.

Sorry if this is a strange question, but there is some discussion for Fantasy/Sci-Fi books already in the Ampitheatre. Would they be moved here or will they stay there? Would it be pointless to start a topic here if it's already been discussed in the Ampitheatre?

 

We're not moving the threads over from Amp. They'll stay where they are.

w00t, finally here. Now, what to start first?

 

Just as a reminder to everyone, you no longer need to consolidate information about a series to a single thread. So here, for example, you could have a thread for each Dune novel, a thread for each novel in the Wheel of Time series, a discussion thread about the character of Rand al'Thor specifically, a dedicated thread about each Harry Potter novel, a spoiler-filled thread about specific aspects of the Potter mythos...etc. Don't limit the discussion to generalities. These forums exist so we can get specific.

Can we start a thread for each chapter of a fantasty or Sci Fi novel where we can discuss and study, anaylize each chapter on its own?

gabe, this banner does indeed rock and I think if we ever knew who the mysterious Braavosi who painted it was, we'd heap praise upon him or her.

As for hosted, chapter-by-chapter discussions go, I don't see why not. They've worked in the past, they may work here. My advice is if you're thinking of starting one, check out who your forum regulars are here and PM them for a common book.

Greetings all.
I hope to find some solace in this forum.
Recently I found that my dad had thrown out my collection of Marvel UK ROTJ, Transformers, Secret Wars, Thundercats and loads of other comics.
Dragons Claws.
Death's Head.



No great loss, some of the more "serious readers" here may be thinking.
But they meant the world to me, and were probably worth at least a couple of hundred quid.
Maybe not.
And I found out on Christmas Day, no less.

So I've been browsing through what I was able to salvage the last couple of days, which was mostly SW related magazines and film magazines and all my Dark Horse comics.


Hopefully discussing other realms of comic book fiction may help cheer me up...

 

I've still got my UK Death's Head comics somewhere. Maybe a couple of Dragon's Claws, too.

Who is Jon Snow? Besides the user here?

I'm not sure if this forum will get a social thread, its up to these 4 to decide upon one if they want. The TV one does though.
