One of the topics that will be coming up at the meeting is a discussion of what kinds of activities the club members would be interested in lining up. Please start thinking now what sounds fun and interesting to you, and post your thoughts here. It would be great to get the ideas flowing for discussion at the meeting. And this way, people who can't make the meeting can also share their favorites. I'm sure this will be an ongoing, evolving thing.

There's lots of fun stuff that we've done in the past as well as things we've talked about but never gotten around to doing.

Some initial suggestions to get the ball rolling:

    Camping
    Hiking
other conventions (not necessarily to have a table, but just attend together)
toy fairs / flea market (some have cool SW stuff)
    Ice skating
    Museum and exhibit trips
    Concerts
    movies
Day trips (beach, amusement park, anything really)
    more BBQs/picnics

Oh, I'm serious. But its INDOOR sky diving - safer and cheaper! ;) I mentioned it before as a possible place for my birthday, but no one showed interest. :(

You can take a look at it, right by the meeting place in Union City, just off the freeway.

I've always wanted to sky dive but it's so expensive! This is a great alternative. I can go if it is during the weekend.

You are welcome to go wine tasting up here in the north bay. the vineyard I am a member of does free tastings, as well as olive oil for those who don't drink, and has beautiful grounds to explore. it would be a fun meeting site too. wine, cheese, and star wars. I'd say it's a perfect afternoon.

That sounds like a great idea. Some of us have been talking about going wine tasting. We just need to wait for some nice weather. :D

Yeah, I'm busy this weekend so I can't to the Toy Show.

I think a trip to Wizard World in April could be worthwhile if we throw in a day at Disney :D

Ah, you've hit the edge of my wine knowledge. I know that I like wine, preferring sweet. I know how to make a very tasty mulled wine and a yummy sangria. But yeah, that's about it. I am not knowledgeable about the difference between Italian and other wines. Oh - one more tangential thing... I can turn any regular bottle into a bottle of Dharma wine with a handy-dandy stick-on label. :D

The Anaheim convention does sound like fun. Unfortunately for me, I will be out of town that weekend - ironically, at a convention in Denver.

Awesome. Sorry, I love wine to the point of learning about the differences, my other obsession... aside from Star Wars and my family.

I think we should start a dragon boat team.

As far as a so cal trip, Disney would be horrible to visit right now. With spring break and Easter, then summer season starts in May. unless you like hour+ waits for Star Tour, probably shouldn't plan that till fall.

Well, hopefully by mid-April, Spring Break will be over for most schools, and we plan to go on a weekday, either before or after Anaheim Comic-Con. I want to check out Captain EO and Star Tours one last time before it closes down for renovation, which (I think) will be by fall.

Then I recommend a Tuesday or Wednesday, cause weekends are going to be busy even in April.

I still think we should start a dragon boat team though.

Chewy and I, in our adventures, have peformed a version of this ritual, canoeing. It sounds like fun, though.
