At least they state when they're going to announce the comic book guests so you don't have to keep going to their webpage everyday to see if there's updates. The 17th will be here before you know it.

Looking at the guest list... I changed my mind, I want to go, even if I have to call in sick to get the days off.

I've had an out of town friend ask about how quickly the special event tickets sell out. Does anyone recall how fast things they went before? A day? A week? A month?

 

Which special events? If you are talking about the extra cost for a guest like Hayden it depends on the cost.

James Marster's top ticket was somehting like over $700 and they didn't sell out.

Tempting guest list, and I may even be in town this year when SFX will be happening, but I really don't want to pay that kind of money for a con that has no paneling track.

Well, this is going to be an expensive year for me!! C4 and now This!!

My friend got us VIP passes for Hayden - so what should we expect for our 250$ a pop?

Of course, its over $300 now. I guess it saves to get 'em as early as you can. We were able to get two gold packages (in-person auto, 2nd priority but no admission) & 3 day passes for about a $100 less than the current price of the VIP package. We were happy with that

 

Sweet deal!... I saved over 300 by not caring about meeting the people that play characters in movies!... hehe... but I will be there in costume... Armour I hope... and when out of that... Han Solo...

if you see me as Han Solo (ROTJ brown pant version)... odds are I won't have glasses on... so I will not be ignoring people, I just can't see clear enough to know who it is...

 

Pick up a pair of contacts. They even make them with bifocals in them now if you need them (like my mom does).

I'm probably not going to be able to make it to SFX. Never been to one. I wouldn't have anyone to go with since my friends aren't the 'geek' type like me and aren't really interested in something like that.

 

Well, that helps too

I use contacts when costuming as well. Even if you aren't suppose to wear them you can usually get by with using them for several hours. I'm not planning on bringing costumes to Toronto though but my wife is. Too much potential border hassle...but don't shun me Canadians-up until the last year and a half I lived in K-W most of my life (marriage can make you do unexpected things )!

 

Well, looks like Hayden's stuff has sold out, which sucks cause I just got the money to buy my gold ticket.

 

you should hold onto your money sometimes they have a limited availbe at the door of the event.

 

Found out yesterday that I have some friends from Ohio coming up to see this, so it looks like I'll be attending on the Saturday. You guys going to be anywhere specific?

 

It sounds like they are going to have a lot of Star Wars type panels so probably around there. I beleive the 501st will have fantable too.

I will probably be around the Polaris 22 table helping out

Yes, the 501st will have a fan table this year! So far we have around 60 members from the Canadian, MWG, NEG, and Garrison Excelisor attending the con! If you know anyone who is a member of the 501st, tell them about the con! Oh and by the way, Albin Johnson will be there as well!

 

Yeah, they are members. I know each of them have an Imperial Officer costume, or two. My one friend has a pretty convincing Ysanne Issard outfit.
