There is nothing wrong with liking Star Trek Keith, I also quite like Babylon 5 and many other Sci Fi series. My love of Sci Fi is not solely contained to Star Wars.

As for it being contained to this thread, it's not like we go round posting everywhere that Star Trek is better than Star Wars. Both have their good qualities as well as bad ones.

I used to run one of the largest fan clubs in Australia for Star Trek and have appeared at conventions and on national television several times. But I haven't done any of that for a number of years.

I think you probably had a bad experience of Trek. There are 6 series, 9 movies, with a 10th on the way. You should be able to watch at least one of them, even if it's the animated one. Most likely you watched a series in the first season, before they really settled down. I think Enterprise is the only series so far to get off to a good start.

Animated - The Animated Series
TNG - The Next Generation
DS9 - Deep Space 9
VOY - Voyager
ENT - Enterprise

Even if this is a Star Wars board, we are not constrained to just that. We discuss meets, we discuss lemurs, so why not trek

No, seriously, I'm really only kidding. I quite like Trek as well. I admit I haven't been watching much of the recent stuff, but I really like TOS. I also like a lot of other Sci-Fi stuff and I have never been accused of being 100% SW related (thinks sock thread.....).

Power to all who love anything passionately enough to discuss it. If other people like it too, there will be a discussion whether it is wanted or not.

Hey i didn't realise so many of you were closet trekkers. Pm me if you want to go to the launch of The Next Generation DVD box in Aus. Its on next Wednesday and I have some cool giveaways, including Hugh Flemming posters, Star Trek Vests and cool mousemats ALso the people from Paramount Pictures will be there.
