I have received a constructive criticism on the trailer. It is by someone who has made several fanfilms of his own so he knows what he is talking about. He pointed out that when Donny is wearing the Sandtrooper armor (the scene where Jason comes up and kills him with the lightsaber), that Donny looks like he is wearing black sneakers... and it looks really funny. Is there anyway to photoshop it to make them white? If not, he said you could pan up and cut off the sneakers and the scene would look better. Also, when Jason is attacking Donny, it looks like he is putting the saber on his belt when it is still ignited... the lightsaber should be turned off first.

Black shoes problem cannot be fixed.

Saber on his belt-tried to fix, still trying to fix, huge pain in the butt.

You can't pan up like he suggested to get rid of the black shoes?

There's nothing to "pan up" to... unless he thinks I should pan up to blank space...

Well I don't know the proper language to describe it... perhaps crop is a better word? Have the scene from the ankle up?

That would significantly reduce the quality.

yes.. crop is different than pan. a crop is something you might cook in something like a pan. crops come in circles, pans come in cakes.

donny could pan up and then add some sky... lots of sky... (use a matte painting of the dune sea... has nice clouds)

This is one of those situations where the solutions are worse than the problem.

One might want to consider that less people may notice it and be more intersted in what is going on. Those who do notice it...well..it's not like it's some big budget thing and there's bound to be some flubbs. Even the big movies have flubbs so...

perhaps if the stormtrooper hit his head at the exact moment the black shoes appear... a little misdirection..

"shoes" who the hell cares! i can sprint in armor....that is more interesting! try that for missdirection...youre drinking coffee and all of a sudden...ZOOM! a trooper goes racing by chasing a jawa

um, we're getting a little (?!) off the topic. Donny is correct in that trying to increase the size of that sequence to cut off the shoes would lead to everything being fuzzy. And because of the action most viewers will not even notice it.

But I do agree with the lightsabre being off when Jason "holsters" it.

BTW, would the group be interested in buying a teaser poster of Shadows In The Sand from our club shop? The cost would be around $15 for a high-quality 16x20 poster.

That was Donna [face_plain]...not Donny. ;)

And yes, I would MUCH rather have an *official* 27x42 movie poster. :)
