Look it doesn't matter anymore whether the guys dad worked their and GL over saw SOTE. The bottom line is that this not happening and will not be included in NEU. Why bring this stuff up? This is so 1996, when things were way different. The Force Awakens is all that matters now along with everything else coming out now, including Rebels season 2.

My question: Who is 'gerge lucas ' and what is his relationship with George Lucas?

SOTE being included in the NEU. Which you would know if you didn't delete the rest of the sentence.

The rest of the sentence is an addition to his initial claim (hence the word 'and'). Besides, who's even arguing or asking for its inclusion in the new canon?

I would hope Xizor / Black Sun will pop up in whatever new post ESB/Pre-ROTJ story that happens but I'm fully okay with the story being presented differently. Just take the basics, looking for Han, Luke makes lightsaber & gets more Jedi, bounty hunters & Fett taking Solo for a ride & Xizor running a criminal empire. I'm totally okay if the new post ESB/ROTJ story does not include Dash Rendar. I mean, the guy was created to be a videogame player surrogate and it kinda shows. I mean, it was awesome in 96, don't get me wrong, but I think a new story could do with less Rendar and bringing Lando more to the forefront as the rouge scoundrel / guy who flies and shoots stuff.

Never played the game but did read the book. Loved back then and still love now the Vader scenes. They are pure gold.
That said the rest of book does leave a few unanswered questions .

How did Luke and Co beat Fett to Tatoonie and why even leave the planet anyway as that is where he was going ?
Whose idea was to use a Han Solo clone in a book that's about them not having Han in it ?
Who forgot Pietts name as Vaders Admiral is now a guy called Okins.

Fett stopped at Gall. I see Dash as a foil to Han. Which is how they're used in Shadow Games.

    Agree with these statements.
The Vader scenes alone make the book worth reading but I remember being disappointed in the rest of it. I really liked the Bothawui (I think it was) parts as well but Luke, Leia, and Lando really seem to take second stage to Dash.

    -------

And it is cool Black Sun is 'canon.'

I haven't read this book in its entirety yet, but there is a quote I thought would've built/transitioned well into the OT. I guess Vader marvels that Luke is more powerful in the force than either he or the Emperor. In ROTJ Sidious recognizes Luke as a threat, and had SOTE been a flick it would've shown the massive force potential Luke has and the logical jump between the films in his abilities. That being said I need to buy this book

The best part is when Vader senses two Lukes on Coruscant.

I guess he figured that out during his battle with Luke on the Death Star when he found out about the twin sister.

For it to be part of the current canon, parts of it would need to be rewritten to fit. Marvel's Darth Vader #7 being an example why.

Vader completely vaporizing any trace of the Lars farm.[spoiler/]

I believe you're referring to when Vader cleaned any forensic evidence of him from Ben's hut. However, both Ben's Hut and the Lars Homestead were perfectly preserved by the end of the issue.

Did Lawrence Kasdan have any involvement in writing SOTE? I've never seen him credited for being involved in the project. Someone on another board claims that Kasdan co-wrote the story.
