Whether or not Rani is in on it or if her demotion is a trick played on her, I have no idea. Time will tell.

I think I get it, but I can't tell whether it means Grey's don't live through much, or whether Grey's just don't get surprised at what they live through. It's rather queer, much like the creatures that it refers to. Short of stature, large of eye, much like a young boy. In fact, I'm sure it has something to do with bulbous heads and thin bodies barely capable of holding their enlarged craniums.

 

It actually refers to Greys not being surprised at what they can live through, because they've lived through so much. If you can guess what a Grey is, I'll give you an extra 5 points.
