No Armand, it wasn't a joke... I went and picked up the club bus today.

Now, what should we call our new club bus?

Donny suggested Tatooine Taxi, but I don't think it looks much like a Taxi because it is blue. How about either "Blue Harvest" or Rogue Runner (sounds like Road Runner).

Also, we need to pick a date that everyone can get together to help clean it up. What date is everyone available?

Sue Dawe said she would airbrush some blast marks on the bus for us. What other things would you like to see on the bus? Michael suggested we have aluminum wheel hub covers in the shape of a rebel or imperial insignia. We definitely need the club logo and URL on the bus. We were also thinking of buying an R2 dome and mounting it on the hood.

I like Rogue Runner, although I'll probably do a Qui-Gon and call it the "transport".

Should we postpone the costuming workshop on the 13th and do this instead? Or will that make our walkers too tired to do the walk at Legoland?

 

"Rogue Runner" is REALLY beginning to grow on me. If the 13th is the day that works for most people, we can work on the bus then.

EDIT: Actually, how about Millennium Peregrine?

They're a breed of Falcon and they're blue.

Whatever the name ends up being, it should be something that rolls off of the tongue and has a ring to it like "Tatooine Taxi" and "Rouge Runner" do.

 

I say we call it the S-Wing for Slow Wing, I ride on buses for a living and I know how slow they can be. Or maybe something to do with a heavily armored star wars vehicle, because it's more like a tank, she can take a beating and keep on ticking. Or, she doesn't have to be slow, we can always do some "special modifications" you know (nitros?) The 13th is booked for Nora and I, we're helping Lord Vader and his equine friends. Our calendar's looking more towards March 20th, the day after my bday, so if we do it, can it be later, just so I can sleep the effects of my bday off? Ooooh...oooh...another name idea...what about NT-AT = No Terrain-Armored Transport?

Actually, the Blue Bantha is cute.

I am actually semi-free this Saturday; daddy and Sean are doing Little League and Boy Scouts so it's just me and Mitchell. If Linda provides babysitters for Mitchell, I can work all day.

 

While Rogue Runner is a very good name, the reason I prefer Tatooine Taxi (besides the fact that I came up with the name) is the fact that there is a whole concept behind the name. Rogue Runner is just a name, Tatooine Taxi is a concept.

 

Tatooine Taxi is a play on Tijuana Taxi I think.

 

First person who can tell me who played a song called "Tijuana Taxi" proves that they're as "ancient" as I am.

And I'm still for starting clean-up this weekend.

i may be open for saturday so far it looks like i can postpone my plans for that day but if were going to do this i'd like to know by friday afternoon (3:30) becuss i will not be able too check the boards till later on saturday.

I just remembered I'm supposed to be shooting SW parody commercials at Contempo on Saturday.

 

Michael just has to get approval from his boss first. Contempo would be the best place to work on the bus as we will need to sand all the rust off. None of the bus is rusted through... we just need to sand it off and Sue Dawe will use her talents to make the bus look "battle damaged."

My goal is to have the bus join "Road Squadron", that is the group that Obi-Shawn belongs to. There are quite a few people with Star Wars vehicles, but I think we are the only people with a Star Wars bus.

Once we get all the nominations for a name in, we will have to put it to a vote. I still like Rogue Runner, but I also like the name "Millenium Peregrine" that Brian suggested as well. I especially like it because the Peregrine is a ship in the Expanded Universe. But of course, we will forever be asked to explain the name as I'm sure not everyone knows that the Peregrine Eagle is Blue.

I hate the name millenium peregrine...no offense...but it's not very catchy and it will require an explanation everytime we tell someone the name of the bus.
