As promised, I watched the first episode of Elementary. And... there wasn't much actually wrong in it, but between House and Sherlock it didn't give anything new into Sherlock Holmes mythos. Same old. Now if they had tried Poirot in 21st century... or a Futurama spinoff: Sherlock On 31st Century.
Ooooo! Now. I do LOVE Poirot. If a Christmas passes without a new adaptation to watch (as this one did) then I feel a little betrayed. I would (at least, in theory) be interested in seeing a modern take on the character. EDIT: Especially since they are running out of stories for David Suchet.
It's supposed to say the German word for revenge, not "Rachel" Until we get to Sherlock... "It's Rachel, not German for revenge"
So apparently some work has begun on Series 3, accroding to the set designer's twitter account. WARNING -- there is apparently a picture posted that at least hints at how Sherlock faked his death.
Yeah Sherlockology has been putting those pics up on facebook. Can't say I've worked out which picture is doing the hinting, but it's damn nice to see the sets finally going up again. For the last time, perhaps, who knows.
I believe it's this one Spoiler link to picture! (Move your mouse to reveal the content) Spoiler link to picture! (open) Spoiler link to picture! (close) Spoiler link to picture! There is, of course, the possibility that it was just a joke and the picture reveals nothing. Hard to tel, in any event, since it's fairly small and hard to make out details.
My favourite set build picture yet. From Facebook, but it probably came from Twitter. No spoilers so I'm posting it big! BORED!
I say no spoilers, but maybe we can construct a theory about how Sherlock survived his fall using only a power drill, a level and a Jenga set.
Sherlock is an excellent series - I watched the first & second seasons last Fall, and really enjoyed the 21st-century take on this age-old character. This is one of those shows that I'll have to watch again to catch what I missed the first time. Like how the text messaging is incorporated into the show (i.e., visible on the screen). Very nice.
Some Sherlock bits in the new BBC Drama Showreel, but I have a suspicion that they're from "The Hounds of Baskerville". The whole promo is accompanied by Sherlock music, though, so can we take this as a confirmation that we'll get Series 3 in 2013, even though there might not be any actual footage of it filmed yet?
