Sure, but he's not a Commissioning Editor. There was nothing official there.
Moffat vs. the fangirls...
Mark Gatiss' face in the last one.... XD
The chief villain / Sherlock's new nemesis for series three has been announced. It's an official announcement. Sue Vertue tweeted it. Here's the story on Sherlockology, but it's everywhere else, too. I suppose that means it's not a spoiler, but still... I'm not going to spill it in this post.
Based on Charles Augustus Milverton, I suppose.
Oooh, so Charles Augustus Milverton had a slight name change... The original character was a pretty good villain - even Sherlock didn't manage to beat him, technically.
I wonder whether Sebastian Moran will still make an appearance, though... I wish he would.
Agreed. However, given Moran's Moriarty connections I'd prefer to see him kept back for a fourth series. I kinda hope that series three will be free of Moriarty's influence... save of course, the explanation of how Sherlock survived (since I believe Scott was on set when they re-shot it).
A "surprise" is attached to tonight's repeat of The Reichenbach Fall on BBC One.
Yes I'd heard about this, too. Although I only watched TRF on BR last night, so I'll be tuning in at 9.50pm.
And this is the image that seems to be accompanying the news:
The Adventure of the Empty House!
Sherlock's about to jump.
EDIT: And he's down.
IT WAS A SHORT TRAILER!!!!!!!!
Watson with a mustaaaaaaache!
Nice teaser, though. Really whets the appetite without giving anything away.
Yeah. Even the trailer ends on a cliffhanger.
Heh, I bet Sherlock will give that mustache all sorts of derision.
I just rewatched The Hounds of Bakserville. I really liked this time, much more than the first viewing.
Really can't wait for Series 3.
Some new clips in this trailer...
Watched the first 2 episodes with Mrs H for the first time. She seems to be enjoying it.
Some of the filming locations look awfully familiar though
This site (http://www.sherlockology.com/locations) has a fair few listed but there are some missing which I've seen on "other" travels
Been watching the Jeremy Brett series from the start and a couple of things stand out which interested me
The first episode in the series was A Scandal in Bohemia. I found this a very odd choice to open the series as Holmes is completely out of character for most of the story. Surely in order for the audience to understand just how much of an effect Adler has on him, they have to know what the character is like normally? If this was one's first foray into Holmes, you think of him as a pervy man stalking women! At least establish the character before breaking it!
The other odd episode I've watched is The Crooked Man. It's just not a Holmes story. He doesn't do anything in it! He visits the last person who saw Nancy who tells him about the Crooked man. He then goes to see him who tells Holmes what happened. Case closed. A waste of an hour.
Maybe late to the party, but I just started watching Sherlock on Netflix. Really good. Cumberbatch and Freeman are great in it.
My wife and I were cleaning up in the living room Sunday night when we noticed that The Reichbach Fall was on, caught the last half hour. Mrs Yankee has never watch the show before, needless to say she's a bit freaked out.
That's pretty much the ultimate spoiler blown if she ever decides to watch the show from the start.
Moriarity freaked her out so much, I doubt I'll ever get her to again.
Series 3 airs in America 19th January. Will be shown on BBC first
Yes please and thank you!
Please be just before or just after the turn of the year. Please, please, please.
