I'm bunkered down in the computer lab because I have an Italian presentation, a bunch of reading summaries, and a paper all due tomorrow and everyone who walks by can see the giant P&W banner.

I always wondered Terr, do you pronounce crepes as crap? Or is that wrong?

 

The correct pronunciation is "crep" with the "eh" sound in "bed."

Many English speakers incorrectly say "crape," although this is similar to how it's pronounced in older dialects of French-speaking parts of North America.

Nobody says "crap" unless they've got a silly Dutch accent.

IT'S A MIRACLE!

I had a gaufre chocolat chantilly (waffle with chocolate and whipped cream) on the banks of the Seine last night, just under the Eiffel Tower. It was amazing.

 

I had some beignets the other day... is that close enough? It's kind of like a funnel cake, which is kind of like a waffle...
