Wash, DC Shore Leave 2005 July 8th-10th

Heya!

I'm finally de-lurking to resurrect this thread... i only know a few of you but maybe now i'll be able to be more active. So any meetings or activities planned for his con?

This is my first time out to have any amount of carefree fun, since....well, long story and i don't want to make anyone feel bad...

So... anyone up for COSTUMES! HOT TUBS! COSMOS! BLOOD WINE! Wahoo! Yippeeeeee!

One way or another there will be a gathering for birthdays at Shore Leave! Anything else? I dunno. I will be debuting my handmaiden costume! YAY! uhm yeah don't forget 10-Forward (Wendy don't forget my drink ;-) )

Cricket, since Dion & Tanya will be on their cruise, I've taken it upon myself to drink and dance with all of the tiara wearing, hell raising, trooper groupie-ing chicks at Shoreleave. I only make that kind of sacrifice for my close friends.

I'm thiniking I might make an appearance Saturday, but it won't be until like late. Like 1am. So Cricket, you'd better save me a Cosmo! I've been waiting for one since C3.

Ken and I will be there, all Mara Jaded up on Saturday for those of you who managed to avoid it at C3. He stopped shaving three days ago.

If that doesn't drive everyone to drink, I don't know what will.

And, Bruce, that means we need you in that Jedi Luke outfit.

 

That's enough for me to start drinking.


Actually I have no idea which costume I'm bringing but I will be in costume for this con!

 

Ok, so now that Shoreleave is basically next weekend, how are we setting up the communication chain? Are we doing the cell phone list again? Meeting up somewhere? Who exactely is going? Eugenia, do you have a room this year?

 

Should I need to, I have been invited to share a room with some old friends...but I will not have a room of my own (dammit!)So cell phone list, meeting place, time whatever name it and I'll plan my volunteer time around it.

I'm in the Embassy Suites this year, so my room isn't a good central meeting point this time. But I'll have my cell, and once a schedule is posted, we can pick a few times to meet up. Say, in the "lounge."

 

Well look for me at the lounge since I was considering pulling a Spat and just setup camp there for the day.

Hey everyone. Money and work have made it hard for me to tell if I'll actually be there Saturday as planned. I'm low on cash.... does anyone know how much admission will be at the door for Saturday only?

The other SNAFU is that my boss scheduled me to work on Saturday, even though I told him well in advance, IN WRITING that I wanted the day off. He's been out of town for the last week due to a death in the family, so I have to talk to him tomorrow when he returns and see if I'll be off.

So, you might see me there, and you might not.

Yeah I'll probably be at the bar when I'm not volunteering...also while trying to hide from someone...I don't think he'll think to check the bar ;-) Time for me to figure out that damn belt...byeee see everyone tomorrow and don't forget to bring extra money for Wendy's and my birthday drinks ;-)

I made it back from Shore Leave safe and sound at 4 AM last night...this morning...whatever. Thanks to everyone for a great time- Cricket, Ken and Eugenia, Wendy, Chrissy, Joe, Charles and everyone else!

I can't wait to see the photos of the corruption of Yoda and Baby Cththulu...I'm sure they'll be an Internet sensation that will easily outpace the Star Wars Kid! Yoda looked great in my tiara.

We need to get together and work on plans for the Lancaster County Garrison- I'll make the hats!
