Should Tarpals have lived to seen in RotS and further stories? He was definitely the best Gungan in the PT, or in general. So much more backbone than Jar Jar.

Well, the story didn't really call for any more gungans, so no I don't think he should have been in any more of the films.

Tarpals was cool, though (except when he said, "Yousa in big doodoo now."). Had Jar Jar been a lot more like Tarpals and a lot less like ... er... Jar Jar, then there probably wouldn't have been so much hate towards the Jar Jar character amongst viewers.

Not sure if you know this already, but in The Clone Wars series, (spoiler)Tarpals sacrificed himself for a chance for his people to capture Grievous. Decent death.

He should have lived because he had more backbone than Jar-Jar? Are you saying that the only characters worth living are those who are uber competent or "cool"?

I don't really know. If he was in ROTS he would have been a nonspeaking cameo at the funeral

No. That is just one reason why I preferred him to Jar-Jar.

To me, Tarpals did live. I also agree he was the coolest Gungan. I'm not seeking to start a fight, but for me, I had the impression he survived TPM, so he's still alive. I've yet to see a single thing in TCW that's credible enough for me to add it to my 'personal SW cannon' if you will.

He did survive TPM. That was pretty clear at the end of the battle on Naboo when the droids shut down.

Exactly... not sure what the question here really is. Tarpals lived after TPM, but never entered into the following episodes' story lines.

No, he should not have lived. He should have died a quick and painful death, like this thread. :p

MF: Hence why I said I believe Tarpals survived. I agree with you. I believe Tarpals has died in TCW but as I don't see the series as credible I don't put much stock into this idea. Hence why for me Tarpals is still alive.

Fair enough. I ignore most of the stuff outside of the films, myself.

Why don't you consider the TCW credible?

His hatred and the dark side of the Force kept him alive.

I want to see Tarpals with spider legs, raving on like a lunatic about revenge.
