He played arguably the most iconic character in the whole Star Wars saga but yet his face has never appear on screen in any of the movies. Others such as Jeremy Bulloch & Anthony Daniels have had cameo's so I think it's only right that Dave should be given the opportunity to appear in at least one of the sequels.
I know there has been the reported fall out with Lucas but he's no longer calling the shots on the movies so there's really nothing stopping JJ giving Dave a call.

I don't see any reason why not to let him have a cameo. That'd be pretty cool actually.

Yes would be nice, :-B but JJ KK will never go against Lucas.

Does anyone know why Lucas doesn't like him?

Seems like it's a combo of Prowse feeling like he was told he'd be unmasked Vader (and ultimately feeling miffed when it went to Shaw), and Prowse leaking plot details.

I think it was something along the lines of Lucas suspected he was feeding the press with information about the plot of ROTJ.

I did not know about the suspected Prowse leaks. I recall reading a magazine dated from 1980 I think which mentioned a stray rumor that Darth Vader was in fact Luke's father. The author immediately followed that up by saying that it was preposterous. Something to that effect. Hilarious.

I prefer Sebastian Shaw's face actually (Prowse is on the right, not left).

From what I gather, Prowse was bitter because he thought his voice would be the voice of Vader - a fairly ridiculous assumption for anyone who's ever heard how he sounds before James Earl Jones was dubbed over. Also, he thought he would be the unmasked Vader. Apparently he also felt he didn't get enough credit for the role or something along those lines, that James Earl Jones got all the praise for the Vader role and that Prowse was sidelined. I am not really sure about this leak thing though, first I've heard of that.

I'd love to see Prowse get a cameo. You've gotta honor the legacy of the OT, IMO.

He makes an excellent point. Prowse's work IS underappreciated. The way Vadar moves, gestures, walks...PERFECT.

He could help younglings cross the road - it could be his amends.

As far as I'm concerned Prowse's attitude should preclude him from any more SW involvement ever, assuming he'd even want to be in another one somewhere.

I dunno, I don't want to pick sides in a 35 year old feud about which I know just from a few random statements here and there, out of context and without knowledge of the behind-the-scenes stuff... so for Prowse's cameo I'll say what goes for every cameo - don't overdo them and those that do get a cameo should have it work in the context of the overall story, not just "Look, we got him to appear as well!"

...anyway, Wedge should get a cameo more than anyone else :p

I really don't like cameos in SW films - it really takes me out of the action. It's bad enough having character cameos - Chewie in ROTS for example, but having production crew or actors famous for other roles - no.

On the other hand - I agree Wedge should be in 7!

    Not necessary IMO.

Prowse did a good job as Vader as would any other bodybuilder would have done in the suit.

Just posturing; making a fist and finger pointing.

It wasn't like what Peter Mayhew did with Chewie - adding that personality with the way he walked and so on.

It doesn't bother me at all if the cameos are small. Did Anthony Daniels or Ahmed Best in AOTC take you out of the action? George Lucas in ROTS?

And yes, Wedge - for Goodness sake Wedge! [face_peace]

Making the heroes of the OT a part of the ST goes a long way towards accomplishing the honoring of the legacy of the OT. I am not against a cameo by other participants, such as Mr. Prowse, but the OT will be no less honored without them by the presence of the big 3 in the ST.
