    LOL Skara

There's a few people like that here at work. But hey, be yourself, girly, and to hell with them!

The tatt is the Rogue Squadron symbol on my upper right arm :)

There was a man in Empire who had the Rebel symbol on his arm. It was a whole Star Wars fan behaviour article. I have kept it so that I can feel sane in comparison to their obsessive ways.

waits for someone to be offended because they were featured in the article....

LOL @ Skara. I was in that article.

Not really. My obsession was limited to making my parents buy the toys when I was younger.

As far as I'm aware, I'm the only one here with a SW Tatt.

If I felt it worthwhile and was more of a geekboy, then it's the Imperial symbol :)

I just can't understand this dark side affiliation; there is far too much of it about. It is probably only a matter of time before I succumb.

Skara, of course you arent stupid. These are just people's opinions.

The Old Republic was Imperial. They were ruled by Emperor Palpatine who was a dark side Jedi but the Imperials werent dark side...they were just doing their job. They served under Supreme Chancellor Palpatine who then becomes Emperor Palpatine - we don't know if he used his Sith powers doing THAT part of his job. In my opinion, he used manipulation and persuasion more than anything else - a true politician.

And as for the Han Solo debate. He was a drug smuggler (a spice runner) amongst other things before he met up with Luke & Ben in the cantina. Have you read the Han Solo trilogy?

Surely under the republic he was chancellor palpatine, and not an emperor? it was him declaring himself emperor and making it an empire not a democratic republic that was the start of major darksideishness.

but i wil concur and pehrase: the imperial forces are minions of the darkside.

//wearing even bigger geek hat on than Mots Minx.

    The Old Republic was Imperial

The old republic wasn't Imperial. It was a republic. People served under Palpatine when he was an Empereror. But once he declares himself an Emperor, it ceases to be a republic by definition and becomes and Empire. Even though the senate wasn't dissolved until Star Wars ep IV.

The Imperials were ruled by a dark sider but not really dark side themselves. Only the Sith were the dark side.

Yeah actually, that sounds more like it. I just saw the imperial logo on one of the Republic ships in the trailer so I assumed he'd declared himself Emperor.

But I stand by the Han Solo stuff :)

    LOL

oac, your post was exactly what i meant to say, but was unable to spend time wording my own post properly due to risk of drowning baby.

As for the Han Solo issue. Han Solo may have been a common criminal in the past, but redeemed himself in the films. My main point in netmeeting was that his criminality was no reason to dislike him, and prefer the Jawas, who are bandits.

    JOKE Skara!

    I do like Jawas though...
