Lit Should Leia have been a Jedi? Potential still?

There have been some strong hints Leia abandoned developing her potential for reasons other than career.

I personally feel making Leia not a Jedi is because of sexism towards older actresses. Thats how it honestly feels to me.

I find these explanations so shallow.
"why Luke did it?" "because he follow him own path no one can choose it for him " "but it's a character!"

 

I think RotJ is clear that the Jedi continue on through Luke teaching Leia but I'd be fine with an ST interpretation of her doing her own thing with that knowledge.

Seems unlikely now if IX was to be the Fisher movie but I would have loved for Leia to whip out Yoda level powers when pressed. First Order troops closing in and she sends them all flying with Force push.

And if she never wanted, needed or had a lightsaber to do it would be all the more impressive. Symbolism optional.
