I don't think you can stop someone from posting rumors. After all, as I speculate frequently, LFL could be the one spreading this disinfo.

Nah, it's part of the fun. Most of us, stress MOST, can spot the rubbish.

Nooooooooo! Lucasfilm has always been a company that seems to have fun with their work and appreciates their fans (miraculously). We don't want them going down the road of Warner Bros., suing every teenager with a fansite because they use copyrighted names. Crazy rumors and wild speculation are part of the fun of the cultural phenomenon that is Star Wars! Let the fake rumors flow! It increases the hype and keeps people guessing.

I do think the government should start taxing Jar Jar jokes though . :p

There is really no way anyone could sue for rumors, and even if there was, it would probably be a bad idea. Leaked info is one thing, but rumors -especially fake ones- there is no release of protected information.

And as others have said, it keep the movie in the light. Even bad press is still press.

Every single rumor site is now an enemy of Lucasfilm! Do what must be done! Do not hesitate. Show no mercy.

I could even imagine people hired by Disney/LFL to spread rumours to confuse us and the media, to conceal the real infos.

No! Even false advertising is better than no advertising.

This way, accidentally leaked material could be at least a little bit more protected.

if it was like super shadow yes because he does drop names wich everyone knows he hasnt met.

as far as just rumors itself i think no simply because despite what people think of one person like jj i still believe people have the right to speak there mind as long as its civil and constructive critisisim and nothing gross like they wish death upon him or something

i mean look at the stuff fans said about the pt and lucas. were episodes 1 and 2 bad? yea but people really believed the guy did that to rile the fans and honestly ive seen comments so wrong it has made what i said in my past look like an angel.

    False rumors = free publicity

So, if anything, Disney should be hoping for more, while publicly decrying the rumors, which would in turn generate more buzz.

And on and on they go......

    J. J. and company are probably laughing at the rumors that are being made and released.
