Oceania Should the aussie board colours be changed?

Hmm...Raincloud, do you think you could make a couple of these pages up? They sound interesting, but it's hard to imagine them. I definitely think it's time for a change though, I'm bored of the ANH motif we have here.

I'd love to see a couple of these schemes too, if you could get them made up.

 

I tried to, but my image-editing program is being mean to me. It's not working very well. It stuffs up all the colours so even if i did do it it wouldnt look anything like it's supposed to.

The easiest way is not to use an image editting program, but play around with the style-sheet directly.

Following what you said in the last post, here are images of what they would look like. I adjusted a few of the other colours to make them visible, but overall it is a little hard on the eyes. Also, I think that if we're going for a new one, we should drop the red entirely.

I'll make a couple of mock-ups myself later today and post them tonight.

 

I agree with Kadue on both - the read should go, and the dark blue is very hard to read.

I think the best idea is to stick to lighter colours for the main board part, and use the darker ones for the highlights.

 

Well, you can do that, but it's more a case of getting them balanced properly. Here are three that I did up.

 

Kadue Like I just said to ya I like the 2 and 3rd ones except for the plae yellow on the main page possibly should be another colour? A non so bright colour like the blue cos that shows up really well

 

The blue scheme looks good (we'd definately need a new banner to go with it though). The other two, IMO, look plain ugly

I think we should pick a banner before we start fiddling with colours

 

Is it possible to make the forum look like a word doc? or even an excel one - something not too obviously not work to the untrained eyes??

Fair enough stinky. I personally prefer the blue, and agree that it would need a new banner. Maybe just change the overlay to something slightly different?

Mind you, I don't think that you have to really go banner, then colours. Matching a banner to colours can give people a starting point for what images they could use.

 

Hmmm... I personaly like lighter backgrounds and darker font and rest of the writing...

The colour scheme might be a little lost on some people, but the FF oldbies know what it's all about. And they took down the old forums, no more blank thread.

But a change would be okay, maybe we can get our resident managers to upload our banners to TFN webspace. Then I wouldn't have to host them anymore!

Oh yeah, whoever said choose the new scheme colours wisely, good call. Especially if we decide to rotate banners.

I agree with Stinky. Have a go at creating a new banner first and then work on matching the colours up with that.

Have red black gold green and white would represent the Australia Aborigines, The Non Aborigines population and the NewZealanders as well.

Is it a difficult thing to change the board colours? On the WA boards we have a new banner going up monthly, and the board colours never match the banner... I'm just wondering, if it isn't too fiddly to come up with the colours and to change them, maybe they could be changed monthly as well... Is that too fiddly?

 

Only administrators can change the board colours, so yes it is too fiddly to do once a month.

 

Shara: looks good, but the text is a little hard to read. Other than that, I like it.

 

I'm working on other font colours to try and fix that.

 

What kind of colour scheme are people after? Do you all want something that's bold and bright, or something that's soft and easy on the eyes?
