Nice and simple discussion. Should the sequels be rated PG like most of the Star Wars movies, or should it be PG-13 to give it a more...."mature" feel to while still allowing it to be viewable by young kids?

    Discuss....

Seeing a though almost all major blockbusters are pg-13, it'll probably be pg-13

Don't care about those silly ratings as long as it's a good movie.

Don't make a movie with the aim of getting a certain rating; that never ends well. Just make the movie and let it get rated based on its content.

    NC-17 should be considered.

I would prefer PG but PG-13 would be acceptable.

PG preferably, Star Wars has a broad appeal and that has always been the case. If its PG I can bring my children to see if once I have and that would be a real treat.

Considering all of the violence in the footage and images they've released thus far, I think it should be a hard R.

TRON: Legacy is a great example of a modern PG-rated film that isn't kiddified. Now I know that film is very polarizing as to who liked it and who didn't (I personally loved it), but it still is a solid film with good amount of action, and a story that didn't go out of its way to pander to kids. If they can make Episode VII like that, I would be completely satisfied.

as long as it's a good movie who cares about what rating it has?

a higher rating doesn't mean better
