Yeah, another one of these "Will we see..." threads.

Do you guys think a character in VII/the ST in general should have a double sided lightsaber like Darth Maul did in TPM? Or do you think Maul should remain the only one (In the movies, that is) to have one?

I think I would like Maul to be unique.

I think it was cool that they made each Villian's weapons in the PT unique. Maul's was a double saber, Dooku's was a curved lightsaber hilt and Greivous used four lightsabers at once!

Now I like the idea of keeping the villains unique, so I think Maul should be the only double saber user in the movies. However there are still unique concepts that can be used.

For example, what if we saw a lightsaber that acted as a Swiss Army knife? One that also was a blaster/flamethrower/shot rope/whatever. Sort of like Boba Fett in a lightsaber. I'd love to see that in a villain's hands!

I hope not. I'm not a big fan of double sabers.

Lightsabers are for the OT and PT. We need all new concepts. No Jedi, no sith, no lightsabers.

I don't know about a double sided lightsaber again, but I'd like to see some new colors like yellow and orange.

2 people with double-sided lightsabers would be fun to see. New colors are needed as well

I hope they stick with single-bladed sabers this time around. However, I wouldn't complain if they threw a few yellow or purple sabers into the mix...

I would love to see new sorts of lightsabers, but no more double lightsabers.

Maul isn't unique, TCW already has Jedi Master Pon Krell with two double-bladed lightsabers as well as Savage Oppress with one.

Not sure if there is a need for them in the movies, but it would be OK to me if some Jedi wanted to use them. In the Jedi Academy game as a pupil of Luke's Academy you were able to choose if you wanted single or double-blade lightsabers.

I tend to see the movies as separate. I know that's not how all fans see it. But that's just the way I look at the franchise.

Also, there were Jedi NPCs running around with double-bladed sabers in the Korriban level, and the cultists sometimes had them.

I think it depends on the kind of character. It needs a very skilled sabermaster Jedi/Sith to wield such a weapon. I am not against the concept. If that's an idea they like, I would prefer to see a double-lightsaber Jedi for a change. We already have Maul as a sith in TPM.

I think they should go back and CG all the lightsabers from every movie so they are double lightsabers.

Actually, Maul was not the first one shown to have a two sided saber, so he was never unique if you count EU.
