Because right at the moment, there are no new social threads allowed in the JCC.

So the reform is currently being enforced?

There is a policy in the JCC right now where no new social threads are allowed to be created. The JCC mods are working on a way to reform and make the JCC a more enjoyable place to be. This is being discussed by the JCC mods as well as the Mods in the Modsquad and AC members.

As to why your thread was specifically locked, you could always PM the mod who locked it.

    EDIT: What KnightWriter said.

    Obviously to some extent, farraday

Because people were complaining about too many social threads, most of which were redundant.

I have a question: What was wrong with the old JCC reform plan?

That is the "old" reform plan. Maybe reform isn't a one time thing?

EDIT: Why am I seeing literature banners? I'm scared

Other then the fact is was inconsistantly enforced?

Thats why I want to know if it's being enforced in full now, or just parts of it, in which case, which parts?

And how having one less moderator is supposed to make it easier to enforce.

FS, yeah, I know that's the "old" reform plan; I just want to know why it isn't being enforced fully.

And if is being enforced why isn't it linked in the header or a sticky thread.

"Why am I seeing literature banners?"

I'm glad I wasn't the only one. I think it's part of the mass Lit mod consipiracy to take over the JC. :p

As for the topic at hand, did you PM DLE, asking for clarification?

I don't know, GriffZ and farraday. You'd have to ask the JCC mods. I know they're working on it so that it will be implemented and won't be considered too constrictive.

It may be that no new social threads are allowed till they figure out how many are allowed.

    EDIT: DLE = Dark_Lord_Erik

Or we could expect that the JCC mods actually vist Comm.

After all, this effects the entire JCC forum and not just one or two users. I feel taking it to PM's would be presumptive.

Yes, DLE is Dark_Lord_Erik, the mod who locked your thread.

    Edit:
farraday, the question as to why the thread was locked could have been PM'd to DLE. As for the discussion on the reform and/or social thread rules, I don't have a problem with it being here.

Everyone is aware the reform dealt with more then just social threads right?

The deafening silence is very reassuring.

Now I remember why I left this place, moderators and such just like to practice their special powers of thread-lockage and if they can't do it often enough then they develope more stupid rules so they can lock more threads.

Yes, because what JCC needed was another social thread. That's what was missing to make it all right.

Oh, and don't forget we need more power-hungry mods as well

I think the "power hungry moderator" accusation has gone out of style for the most part, mostly because it's pretty much unfounded.

You know all the users want to be mods, you know that they want it just to have cool colors in their names and the ability to close threads they don't like. Even if some refuse to admit it, they just want to be mods for power, not to help make the JC a more happy and fun place for everyone

Unless you somehow are able to poll ever single user at the JC, it is not wise to make unfounded generalizations.

You're free to believe that, although I think it's mostly untrue. I'm sure it's true for some, but I like to think most people just want to help the JC out however they can. Some would never want anything to do with being a moderator.

    Edit: And what Griff said.
