Should they remake the original Star Wars triology?

They should remake it, because once when EpIII is out, some (most???) may want it remade to suit for they completed prequels.

All I would want done is upgraded special effects. The story flows well enough with the PT, so that needs to be left alone.


The effects are dated, though, so I would like them to be messed with for the DVD.

 

YES why the hell not it would be cool to see how it would turn out all you people who are saying no dont redo it its perfect how it is your wrong its not perfect it could have a lot cooler seens in it if it was redone for example the fight between vader and OB1 could be 300 times better besides its not like if they make a new version you can never see the old ones again

 

Perhaps if you'd seen the OT in theaters back in 1977 you would have a greater appreciation for it. I think the current generation just doesn't get it. Star Wars made it's impact on history back in 1977, so unless you were there, you are really missing out on something special. To make the OT as WHIZ BANG POW ZOOM as the PT would be a huge mistake.

 

No, they shouldn't remake the whole Original Trilogy again. Perhaps adding to it with some new scenes in the rumoured Ultimate Edition, but apart from that everything else should remain.

I voted no because I'd hate to see remakes of the CT.

But I'd like to see the movies re-editted for the DVD release. The Special Editions were a wasted opportunity, in my opinion. I want to see GL take another shot and create the Ultimate Editions. That means fixing the special effects in duels, and taking out the lamer additions that were made to the SE movies.

 

I voted no earlier, but now I think a remake would be still better than another re-edit, provided that GL releases the theatrical cuts of the OT too.

No. It'd be nice 2 see a version that just changed the special effects, to look like prequels. But leave the actors, music, and everything else as is.

 

Being the OT purist that I am, I'd have to say no.

If there is a remake I'd have to be the one to oversee that it's done right.

I have absolutely no problem with Special Editions and so on, especially since they dramatically improved the picture quality with them. But that's a different bag compared to an actual remake.

I don't want it, and Lucas would never do it himself or allow anyone else to do it. The closest anyone could get would be after Lucas died, and even then his estate would probably sue them six ways from Sunday.

I hate the special editions and any changes he has made. If it were up to me, only the original versions would exist.

 

They don't need to be re-made, but I am in favour of more changes (new scenes, better FX etc)

But I also want the original versions avaliable too!
