    Well, here's a picture of the Minneapolis skyline, even though we don't live in the downtown area (but are located in one of the outer suburbs). My hubby and I go there often enough to warrant an image, though:

    Here's a closer look at the downtown area:

    Here's a picture of the Weisman Art Center at the U of M campus:

    Here is an arial view of the campus (where hubby and I often hang out):

    Here's the park my hubby and I often visit... they have a putting course and paddle boats there:

    (I work at the big office building in the background)

    If only it didn't get so freaking cold in the winter. *sigh*

    Yup, Debo. That's the putting course that my hubby and our friends sometimes go to. :)

    Well it turns out we didn't go out that day and I used most of the pictures at the beach. I do however, have a picture of where I've been working this summer. :)

    Wow Tash, that's quite the mixing console. What kind of stuff have you been working on?

    I'm actually just learning the very very basics right now. My real job is to answer the phone and get coffee, but when there aren't clients here, my dad's teaching me stuff. We're mixing a bunch of songs a friend and I recorded a few weeks ago. It sounds...interesting.

    That's awesome Tash, you'll have to upload some stuff when you get it done so I can hear it. :D

    Heehee...okay. I'm trying to get my friend Fran (she's on the JC as Guitarnarf) to come and record with me too. She's a phenomenal guitarist. This is her.

    Hi guys! My hubby and I borrowed a friend's digital video camera for the weekend, so I might be able to literally show you where I live. ;) Maybe even a clip of Beaker!

    I thought you guys would get a kick out of these photos since everyone tells me Australia is such a dangerous place to live. ;)

    [image=http://photos.nenya.net/misc/snake1.jpg]

    Back up home we had a lot of carpet pythons running around the place (not in the house, mind) but there was one day when we heard this almighty crash from the mower shed and we went out there to find that 2 massive carpet pythons (both male) were fighting. This was pretty unheard of in reptile circles (that fight even got it's own university paper written about it!)

    Anyway, there were 2 snakes about 13ft long there and it was pretty amazing.

    [image=http://photos.nenya.net/misc/snake2.jpg]

    They don't get much bigger than that, and we have our fair share of other snakes around like taipans, grass pythons and I even saw a death adder down the back of our place once!

    So, you can live amongst this and still be alive. I'm living proof!

    ;)

    Well, THAT should be interesting. We only have harmless snakes here, who sort of swim and glide around and are scared when you look at them.

    Yikes, those snakes are huge! :eek:

    I guess you would get used to that sort of thing, but sheesh!

    We have dangerous snakes around here, but they're rattle snakes that mostly just hide, and are more scared of you than you are of them. They only bite if you accidentally step on them or something.

    Did a little research. In Holland, we have these three:

    [image=http://www.nvpeters.myweb.nl/_borders/adder.gif]

    The adder, that's poisonous.

    [image=http://www.nvpeters.myweb.nl/_borders/gladsl.gif]

    The gladderik.

    [image=http://www.nvpeters.myweb.nl/_borders/ringsl.gif]

    The ringslang.

    They mainly live in the South of Holland, but idiots have murdered most of them so there aren't many left.

    The Inland Taipan is a very rare species and believed to be the most toxic of all snakes. One bite delivers enough venom to kill around 100 people. A close cousin, the Taipan, reaches a length of over 10 feet and is very aggressive. It strikes without warning, not once, but several times, injecting a venom that clots blood and can kill in minutes. The Death Adder, relative of the Cobra, has a bite that is lethal in 50% of cases that go untreated. Other potential killers are the Tiger snake, the Australian Black snake and the Brown snake, whose bites cause the most deaths in Australia.

    God, I love this country.

    :D

    Rattle snakes are dangerous, but those ones sound like some made-up thing from a horror movie! :eek:
