You're probably going to be adding it in anyway, so I won't mention highlighting, or putting a little "glint" in Yoda's eye--I understand that coloring comes in layers and stages, and not all at once. This is looking great, and will be so cute when you're done!

How cute! I love the expression on Yoda's face!

I can almost hear Yoda's gravelly voice scolding his "dreamy-eyed" Padawan! The shading on your own face here is lovely, ShrunkenJedi--nice highlights on the cheeks and on the clothing (and the expressions on both faces are great!). You have to be pleased with how this one is turning out!

Thanks, guys! Yes, I am pleased with how this turned out. I have the finished product here... at least unless I decide to tweak at some later date... this time I'll put it up full-size.

I really like the finished "Dreamy Padawan" piece, SJ! The look on your face and the one on Yoda's are just wonderful! And the "You Seek Yoga" sketch had me laughing pretty good! Who knew the little green Jedi Master could bend that way (and not look as though he was on the rack...? )? And the Han in stormtrooper armor is actually a decent likeness in your own style: that "sideways grin" that Solo is so famous for (we still read about it in the novels!) is beautifully done! I'd like to see you do the entire "trash compactor party" this way--Luke, Leia with the awful hairdo and Chewbacca going ballistic over the dianoga he most certainly smells--it'd be great! Think about it!

...Apparently when I have a ton of work to do, I have an uncontrollable urge to do some cartooning. Go figure. Hence what I have today... it's not all SW, but... Left: Remus Lupin and Nymphadora Tonks (Potter). Center: Luke and Vader. Right: Sam and Frodo (LOTR). Don't ask why I put them all in the same picture. I really don't know why myself .

Okay, probably the last things for a while. I must be getting back to doing schoolwork and my tablet is about as addicting as message boards

I've kinda been on a Tonks/Moony kick recently (from Harry Potter, of course). She's gotten hurt in her Auror duties, so he's taking care of her. (No, the blood has nothing to do with his werewold tendencies!!)

I like your Anakin sketch. He seems to have a really selfish sullen look on his face like a little child. Definitely a different take than the normal angry Ani works! (Including my own!)

 

Ah, thanks, Basement. I think my favorite part of the PT was seeing the sensitive, determined kid behind the mask of Vader...

Anyway, last one of my Tonks/Remus sketches (from Harry Potter)... I swear! I was making so many of them because I had this idea in my head of a perfect desktop of them to draw for myself. I think I've finally got one I'm really satisfied with, though. I'm looking back at all the stuff I've done, and all I can think is wow, I've really improved! ... I hope that continues

Hey SJ! You have a lot of new work up--and it all looks great! I really liked the "collage" piece--the Luke/Vader part of it especially: I always thought that some part of Luke would be sad about what happened to his father, and that he'd never known Anakin Skywalker as a father, and you've captured this very well. The Anakin portrait is nice, too--I like that he's looking rather confused and uncertain--something that we know was roiling around inside him during most of ROTS. And the Remus/Tonks pieces are nice, too--good emotion in them (and that always appeals to me!). I am unfamiliar with the characters in the Harry Potter books, but you've portrayed their relationship with a lot of clarity, even to the uninitiated. Well done!

Hey, FF! I can see you've been busy around here

The streaks of water on Luke's face are actually sweat, not tears- this is before they go into the throne room. I can see how you could interpret it like that, though. In the Anakin sketch, yes, I tend to focus on the conflict, confusion and sorrow rather than rage when it comes to Anakin's character. It seems to me to be a better key to his actual feelings, at least the parts I can actually relate to.

Glad you liked the Remus/Tonks pieces, too. I had a lot of fun drawing them. I think it really does help to draw a certain subject over and over, I just get a better feel for it. I've been drawing Potter fanfic cover art, too, which includes a rather younger version of Remus (I haven't put the cover art up here...), and doing sucessive versions really helped, I think.
