I hope I did this right as it has been a long time. You guys are wonderful I feel like I just got a nice warm hug. I may be parting ways with a friend and I felt a little lonely so I thought I would look for something to read from an old familiar author that I enjoyed many times and was so excited to see Revanfan1 writing L/M. So is this thread like the Cantina now?

Azure, I am so sorry for your loss. I will be trying to check in more often. When I do, I am here for you - heart issues run in my family too.

    You're welcome. :)

And yes, this is the successor of the Cantina, as of a couple of weeks ago.

The thing with your friend sucks. :( Hope you manage to mend whatever is broken.

Thanks everybody. I really appreciate that. @};-

For today I had to stay in unfortunately, even though many are sick at work. But a mega migraine, that made my face swell badly, came over me last night when my husband DarthUncle took me out to the Vietnamese restaurant. (The Croatian one is always closed on a Monday.)

DarthUncle got me 2 migraine tablets that cost 8 EURO and they worked 3 hours later.

In the evening I had many friends call, which helped.

    I slept badly at night.

In the early morning hours I vomited heavily for the migraine is back.

Now I am sitting popped up in bed, a bucket nearby.

Even my Mulgrew ex wrote me a kind email:

    "Dear XXX,
with greatest regret I have heard the news of your Father´s death tonight. Now he went home.
He was a good man with principles but never lacking humour.
When he enjoyed himself, his eyes would twinkle and then came his big smile.
I like to remember his thoughtful little speeches for example for the allotment club or just for praising a good sausage or tasty slice of bread.
I wish him a good journey and I will pray for him."

He wrote some more words for me, my older brother & my mother. One can see he used to be in politics before fully turning towards forestry.

Ewok Poet: The red little figure in my water colour painting was indeed Anger. Cem_Fel pointed out that I forgot Joy but Pryce is smiling slightly so there you have some joy at least. Disgust, Fear and Sadness are there anyway.

Sorry to break to somber mood but I was on a lecture about The Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck today, followed by a signing by Don Rosa himself. I can now cross out that on my bucket list :D

That´s pretty cool Gamiel, I once went to a similar event with my dad and got my copy of Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck signed by Rosa.
    Its probably my favourite comic.

I absolutely adore the three-way inspirationalness between Ewok Poet, Raissa Baiard, & Findswoman -- leads to all kinds of creative hilarity. Reminds me so so much of the mutual /reciprocity that L/M specialists had back in the day. ^:)^ Then Gemma came back [face_dancing] which made me wonder -- has anyone heard anything from JadeLotus or Irish_Jedi_Jade and Admiral Volshe? @};- @};-

Thank you - that is QUITE a compliment. [face_love] There's a sub-universe of our joint universe that I never contributed to, that's Finds' and Raissa's own :zeb: , so...we branch things EVEN FURTHER THAN IT LOOKS LIKE.

But yeah, I finally started posting a story with my OC OTP (lots of mush, there will be :yoda:) and it would have never happened without Finds and Raissa...also Kahara and Volshe. <3 They all encouraged me to combine my, well, edginess with some fluff, which I never thought I would be capable of. [face_blush]

Have not seen those first two in ages (miss them, too!), Volshe, err, left in April last year. Finds and I are regularly in touch with her on Facebook, she turned 22 the other day, is now engaged to a guy she met on here and she's doing much better in terms of health, to the point where she can walk again and actually enjoy life. I'm so happy for her! But I miss her fics on here, too!

At least for Irish, last time I was talking to her - and that was like a year? Maybe 2 now? (man, time flies and I'm getting old) Real Life was getting unfortunately Darthy for her. Hopefully everything is going well with her.

My sleep schedule, after being pretty decent for about a month, has completely been screwed up. I'm tired all the time now and I have no energy to work on classwork, making me feel guilty when I work on fanfic (I try to work on classwork till 4, then I get to work on fanfic, but when I get minimal work done before 4, I just feel unproductive). I'm blaming it on the weather. Ignoring the fact that it now gets dark around 4, it is just gross and cloudy, which I don't mind, but I think it is just contributing to the fact that I would like to hibernate.

Nice to see someone else geek out over Don Rosa! I've bought a lot of prints from him over the years, though I still haven't been able to frame them and place them wherever I find room for them... :(

Briannakin -- on the topic of insomnia. My mom has it real bad. She's tried over the counter stuff and prescriptions. Nothing works well for long. But now she's discovered lavender oil. Friends of ours swear by it too. You put a couple drops on your pillow and it's relaxing. Helps your brain stop running, so even if you don't have a lot more sleep hours-wise, the quality somewhat improves. And best of all, no side effects. :p

I'll keep that in mind, but I've endured sleep issues my entire life. I (somehow) ran on 2-4 hours a night back when I was in high school (probably not the healthiest thing, but I did it). My issue now is that I study from home and I'm the type of person that if I don't HAVE to get up at a decent hour, then, well, I don't get up.

I think I also need to get out of the house more, but the fact that it is currently snowing AGAIN, really just makes me question if I REALLY should be driving in the gross weather if I really don't have to be. I have a friend who is feeling kinda blah these days too and we have just decided to blame it on November. November is just a blah month.

On the plus side, I worked though over half of a unit today. Units usually take me a week to do - this one is shorter, but still, I will take my victories where I can.

Melatonin helps me sleep. Well, that and Klonopin. I do think lavender also helps. I use this lavender bath salts and they also seem to help.

I don't know what happened last night, but I thought I was going to puke at 2am. I took some Pepto-Bismol and that seemed to help. I really hope I don't get sick. It has been such a long time since I had the flu and I really would like keep it that way.

November and February. Who needs 'em? Melatonin is one of my go-tos, yes, and sometimes jasmine tea.

I've used Melatonin and other sleep aids in the past to varying degrees of success. But I'm scared I would become dependant and my logic is, why do that when I don't actually need a regular sleep schedule (as pathetic as that sounds). I'm going to try to get on a better schedule, but I'm not the only person suffering from the November blahs. It's half snowing and half raining and just not fostering productivity.

Edit: AND JUST LIKE THAT, ALL THE NOVEMBER BLAHS ARE GONE.

I'm also seeing the November blahs. For most of the semester, I've successfully gone to bed around midnight to 1am on non-school nights and gotten up around 8am to 10am at the latest on days off. Since the time change, I've struggled to get to bed before 3am on off nights and struggled to get up before noon on days off.

I'm a lot like Briannakin: if I have to be up early (e.g. Mondays and Wednesdays when I have to leave for class at 7am), it's not an issue going to bed early and getting up early. But without a specific reason why I need to get up, my body refuses to roll out of bed until I've spent 10-11 hours in bed regardless of what time I set my alarm for, so that 3am bedtime turns into a 1pm rising.

I take melatonin (my doctor has told me that I can't become dependent on it since it's a natural hormone), but that only helps with the getting to sleep part. It doesn't make it any easier to get up when the alarm goes off. They need to invent a non-habit-forming medication that you can take at bedtime to help you get up easily the next day. Whoever invents that would be a millionaire.
