    Hey all! I'm relatively new to fan art, and I'd love any criticism and comments! :)

    Star Wars Art:

    [image=http://i97.photobucket.com/albums/l201/Lestat020/sanhill.jpg]

    So someone asked me to draw a picture of San Hill and Grievous in love, and I drew this. I was rather inspired by a photo in Star Wars Insider of Asajj Ventress and Dooku in a similar pose. Pencils.

    [image=http://i97.photobucket.com/albums/l201/Lestat020/Quinlan.jpg]

    Quinlan Vos, a recent drawing. He was originally supposed to be posed with Aayla next to him, but she came out horrendous and they looked like they were dancing together so she is no longer. He still kind of looks like he's dancing, but at least it's not so obvious. Pen & ink.

    [image=http://i97.photobucket.com/albums/l201/Lestat020/Aurrasing.jpg]

    Aurra Sing. I wanted this to be my experiment piece that I would use to color in photoshop. Sometime I will get on that. She's supposed to be more on the cartoonish side. Pen & ink.

    [image=http://i97.photobucket.com/albums/l201/Lestat020/Anakin.jpg]

    From the fan art studio a while back. Anakin. The scan is much lighter than the real version. Pencils.

    [image=http://i97.photobucket.com/albums/l201/Lestat020/Khaleen.jpg]

    Khaleen, Quinlan's loose girl thing. I wanted her to be in a fighting pose, but then I realised that even in a fighting pose she can't keep her legs closed. :( Unfinished. Who knows if I will go back to it. Pen & ink.

    [image=http://i97.photobucket.com/albums/l201/Lestat020/Handmaiden.jpg]

    Handmaiden from Knights of the Old Republic 2. Pen & ink.

    Miscellaneous (My better pieces and favourite ones aren't Star Wars things so I thought it would be best to include a bit of these in too)

    [image=http://i97.photobucket.com/albums/l201/Lestat020/valo.jpg]

    Ville Valo, lead singer of HIM. Done years ago. Pencils.

    [image=http://i97.photobucket.com/albums/l201/Lestat020/Manson.jpg]

    Marilyn Manson, did this the other day. Flair pen.

    Absolutely terrific. The pen and ink shading on the Star Wars ones is dead on, and I love the Manson. It's hard to make something that toned-down and simple look good, and you succeed brilliantly.

    Well this is brilliant. They're all great to varying degrees but I'll show you my favorites. :D

    [image=http://i97.photobucket.com/albums/l201/Lestat020/sanhill.jpg]

    [image=http://i97.photobucket.com/albums/l201/Lestat020/Anakin.jpg]

    [image=http://i97.photobucket.com/albums/l201/Lestat020/valo.jpg]

    These all have depth and realism to them that extends beyond the page and I enjoyed them immensely.

    Great work!! =D=

    Hey there, Sith-Lord-Gunray! I'm glad you finally decided to start a thread here, and a good start on it too, I see! I remember that partial portrait of Anakin from the Fan Art Challenge a while ago--I would so love to see you complete that piece! It's a wonderful likeness, with a beautiful start to the shading and depth of the facial structures--it would be just awesome if you finished it! I love the portrait of Valo--very evocative in mood and pose--beautiful shading and volume--just wonderful! And Manson is just...scary! Great job with the pools of black for shadowing--a lot of "pop" there! Your pencil work is exceptional, but I just adore your shading with the pens--it's a difficult medium to use, and you seem to have a gift for it. Just curious--do you start your pen pieces with a pencil outline/sketch and then go over with pen, or just dive right in with the pens...? Your figures are very stylized: very long-limbed, very slender; is this by choice? I have some wonderful online figure drawing references I can share if you're going for realistic (they could help with proportions for the human figure)--but they're unnecessary if this is simply the style you're going for... I really like the depth you get in your work--there's a lot of great volume in each of the shaded pieces, and it's just great!

    A wonderful start to your gallery, and we'll definitely be looking forward to more!

    Thank you Souderwan! :)

    Thank you! About the figures, that is generally the style that I've always used with pen and ink. Aurra Sing and Khaleen I tried to keep it mildly that way, but I wanted to get over that with the other pen and inks. The handmaiden was an especial mess because she came out all disproportioned and anorexic looking. Quinlan I tried to make buff, but I need to work on it :( . It depends more on how motivated I am on a piece as to whether or not I will pencil it first. I know for the Manson I used very little pencil, only to mark where certain features were. Quinlan on the other hand had a lot, as well as the handmaiden. If it's in my head, I won't need to pencil too much.

    And I would *love* the figure references... I've been trying to find stuff like that online for ages.

    Hello, Sith-Lord-Gunray! [vader]Welcome to the fanart side...[/vader]

    Despite how odd I find the pairing, San Hill with Grievous is well done. I like how you have his arm draped like so and how the expression on his face shows me it's done sort of in a shy, loving manner. Your figure work in general is pretty good and I do love the etching style you apply with the pen.

    Oh and I'm loving Ville Valo! FF is right about the mood of that piece. Good shading, particularly on the skin and the work you did on his tattoo is superb - It conforms perfectly and looks very, very real.

    Wow, you've got much talent! I love the shading, esp on the first one and the portrait of Anakin! [face_love]
    I agree with FalconFan that you should complete it!

    Very very impressive! Your Marilyn Manson gives me the creeps. (Then again he always gives me the creeps.)
