Sith's Xmas Spectacular 12/14/13 - December Meeting - 1 pm Thorntonfest, 2:30 meeting

So this year it will be held at Sith Central - PM for address. Thornton WinterFest will be in full force, we can go visit Santa, ice skate (for a fee?), walk around tiny village and freeze our butts off.

Saturday 12/14/13 1 to ?

Potluck - Italian - we will have spaghetti sauce and noodles as well as salad. Please bring salad dressings, bread, anything Italian; raviolis, baked zitti, pizza, you get the idea. Desserts, finger foods, chips, drinks, ice, more fun things to drink, etc.

Gift Exchange - White Bantha $10 to $15 limit, doesn't have to be Star Wars, but it does feel good when your gift gets ripped out of peoples arms and we make younglings cry. You do not have to play if you don't want to, handmade gifts are always welcome and it's still fun to watch the madness.

No one under 18 is allowed w/o parents or gaurdian.

Let's start early (1pm?) if people want to go to the fair across the street, chime in with who might want to go, Jeff will stay at the house so people can hang out there too. Meeting at 3 (short meeting) and gifts right after? Maybe we can speed round the gift exchange? Eat after? Pipe up with what every one thinks will work best. I know we have a lot of people needing to leave early, so I'm flexible.

 

One more thing I thought of white Bantha exchange is for grown ups only. . Sometimes gifts can inappropriate and often kids don't understand why their gift is being stolen

 

True, but we've had people wanting their kid to 'play' and it has never gone well, that is why I added in the making kids cry.

 

Italian bread (per request) and gifts to make kids cry coming. I'll have to leave no later than 6pm for my company catered Christmas party (it's always fancy and the only time I get to wear a formal dress).

 

We should be able to attend=)

The scheduled time is our usual 2 PM, however meeting and holiday shenanigans don't start until later, like usual, I'm sure.

I got my white bantha gift from Cost Plus this weekend. I almost wish I could take home my own gift!

 

I tried to update my original post the other day from work and it didn't work the way I thought it should. I will try tonight at home.

I was thinking a wee bit earlier for people with kids and we could spend a couple of hours over at the park, food, gifts and if we want we can head back over to Thornton Fest for fireworks in the evening? Not sure what everyone's thoughts are on that.

Once I have it all figured out I will make a fb event.

So I was thinking about people with children or people who want to go over to WinterFest early to see Santa or ice skate. 1pm? If nobody wants to do that we can all head over after the gifts and food are done. Bring warm clothes?

I see that several people need to leave as early as 4? I'm afraid you are going to miss out on something and those would be food or gifts. Which one do you want to miss?

Things up for grabs to bring are h'orderves, drinks (of all kinds), desserts, bread and other pasta or Italian things, oven is open for yummy stuff.

Problem with going to the fest first then the party is that some of us have to leave early and really don't want to miss anything. Food, meeting, exchange, then the fest for those who want to go. My .02 cents.

 

Because we are moving the next day we will be bringing easy things for food this year....I'm thinking a dessert and garlic bread

 

just found out work party is that same day...so now i am a maybe. :'(
