Princess Leia Slave Bikini

Mirax, I'm digging the boots! Way cool! Hope everyone else is having as much success! =)

 

Thank you again! Gonna hopefully do some more work on them tomorrow.

 

Well, the boots are done. Let me know what you think. Hopefully will make some final alterations to my skirt this weekend and try and post some pics of the completed costume. The only thing I need is little gold beads to add to the ties for the top.

Mirax, your boots are gorgeous! Did you have some sort of a pattern for making the boots themselves, or did you just freehand it?

JainaMSolo- No pattern ( I wish I did) Just used 2 pics, and neither were very good so I can't say how accurate they are but I think they look pretty good.

Obey Wann- That would be fun. I need to check out the forum, been spending too much time at the Dented Helmet. I need someplace to show this one off!

Wow, Mirax, that costume is just amazing. Absolutely perfect!! You do realize though that I can no longer allow my hubby to go as Jabba

 

Great work, Mirax, especially on that gold thingie that is part of the skirt. That seems to be the most detailed (like a Roman relief sculpture) and I'm always amazed with how well the fan-made ones are.

BTW, both that and your Ceremonial Leia were approved on Rebel Legion.

Jedi Toren-Thank you and glad you noticed the skirt pieces. I was quite worried about trying to duplicate the detail and didn't think it would turn out very well. And glad my costumes were approved

 

OK...if I'm beating a dead horse just let me know. I'm almost done with my Slave Leia costume and what I'm wondering about is how to go about attaching a panty to the front and back pelvis plates. I just don't want to do a shoddy job and ruin the skirt pieces that I'm very pleased with. My main concern is that the panty is secure and wont cause me to feel to many ...ahem...drafts down there. No way will I go commando. How did you guys who completed your costumes solve this problem?

 

Well, i used a pair of string bikini and cut the string, then sewed the front and back into the front and back of the skirt. This is not an outfit to go commando in for sure.

 

If you attach it with snaps, you can remove them and wash them. That's a nice feature for undergarments.

I guess the key is making the skirt is snug enough around the waist to make sure the panties stay in place.

 

Exactly. I had to change mine about 3 times before it was tight enough. And don't forget to add the front and back plates, that adds more weight!

I attached the sides of the skirt with elastic, so I made them slightly snug, and it worked really well.
