I did. I was going for Audible and Mendelssohn. The latter got knocked around like a ping pong ball coming out of the gate- horrid start and just never overcame it.

So... Twitter. I just rejoined after a two year hiatus. I've added some folks here, but who else here is on there and feels like sharing? My page is linked in my signature. :p

I honestly have not used Twitter or any other social media platform for personal use in years. I find all social media to be a rotting ceasepool these boards and a few other places being an exception.

Got my tickets for Thursday Night. 8:40 PM showing in 3-D. Not the biggest fan of 3-D but that is what works best time wise for everyone so I don’t ultimately don’t mind especially since I have my own pair that I kept for years since the chemicals they use to clean it gives me a headache. It’s going to be a 12 hour period where I am going to fully splurge. Pizza for dinner followed by Pop and Reeces Pieces at the movies. Then I am having Chick-Fil-A for breakfast that Friday morning since it’s the last day of school and if my two seniors who have to take finals still listen to my instructions and take them when I tell them earlier in the week, then all I have to do is finish my grade book and clean out my desk for the year.

I must admit that I love the holiday tradition for SW but for me personally Memorial Day weekend is a perfect bookend for me personally due to coincidences with the end of the school year. Episode IX for me will be kinda of a mess since I will see it Thursday December 19th but then have to go in and give finals/submit my grades for the semester. Hopefully I get lucky again and at least one of the Friday finals be my lunch period so I only have to give one final and finish grades for that. I always finish my grades done as early as possible so I am not frantic on the Friday before the semester ends.

Favreau clarified that his TV show is set 7 years after the Battle of Yavin, not ROTJ. So, 3 years after ROTJ. And, I think, 2 years after the Battle of Jakku.

Yes, I think the Battle of Jakku was almost exactly one year after the Battle of Endor.

You know, the fact that Favreau dates it from the Battle of Yavin is super interesting. Why not just say that it takes place three years after the Battle of Endor? Why is Yavin the reference point?

My guess is that this is because the story starts with some characters from Yavin. Seven years after the Rebels left, some native Yavin youngsters happen upon the abandoned Rebel base and wonder what it was...

I have a strong feeling that's how this thing starts. If so, I like it. Meaning, I like the idea I just came up with. :)

    "Can you speak Bocce?"
Doing my pre-movie rewatch now. Starting with Star Wars... "This R2 has a bad motivator."

I'll get a good Han Solo fix this time round.
"If there's a bright center to the universe, this is the planet farthest from it".
I sometimes wonder whether my love for the movie is nostalgia or if it's objectively a good movie.

    .... It's pretty damn good.

PS, after the action start, it's fairly slow for a good half hour.

The slow section of ANH is, IMO, the sequence that truly immersed the audience in this strange new world for the first time, and I love it. Junkers and farmers and nomads. It’s all so strange but familiar. One of my favorite stretches of Star Wars. If Solo similarly takes its time at the start, I’ll be happy.
