I'm hoping Snoke is just "Snoke" - not related to any characters we've seen thus far.

It's a BIG Galaxy. Not everyone needs to know everyone.

It will be cool if they develop the story of the Knights of Ren in Ep. 8 (which is *sounds* like that's a real possibility). To me, it would be cool if Snoke came about via the Knights of Ren somehow. Maybe at one time he befriended and earned the trust of Luke, Han and Leia. When his true motives were revealed and he convinced Ben/Kylo to join him he tore apart the family that was Han, Leia and Luke. Then he went on to get involved with the First Order.

    I'd like to see a Leia-Snoke confrontation!

Would be rather funny if Leia was responsible for why Snoke looks so frail, makes it more interesting if that explains why he's so scared of Luke if Leia with minimal force training almost killed Snoke?!;)

I'm happy with Snoke being Snoke, as long as the backstory they conjure is interesting and strong.

Snoke looks like both of his hands are natural. Windu theory debunked.

I think the eye discription of Rax and Snoke would debunk the theory that the two are actually the same the person.

Luke's doesn't look like that now. Snoke's hands seem to match his age.

Luke's might have too if the tissue had remained in place.

I don't know. Fake skin doesn't seem to hold up well considering what Luke's looks like in TFA.

That's not his fake skin, though. It's the prosthetic skeleton underneath.
I've always assumed that the tissue was lost/removed due to damage, not decay.

When wig & toupée-wearing people are home alone, I'm sure some remove their hairpieces, and not just for showering and sleeping. Luke thought he was all alone on the island, except for the puffins.... I'm surprised he's wearing a robe..... must've been cold.
Maybe his hand skin is back in his residence, draped over what he might refer to as Handequin Skywalker.

I'm going with the Snoke is Lando theory. Lando is still pissed that he lost the Falcon all those years ago, and then to add insult to injury, Han blocked him from hooking up with Leia while on Bespin. Which is why Lando/Snoke was so adamant that Ren kill Han.

Actually, I hope Snoke is simply Snoke. I hope he is his own new character.

Evidence mounting (from the latest canon novel, "Life Debt") that Snoke may indeed be "The Operator":

Problem is, the TFA novelization, when Snoke's hologram appears, describes him as "humanoid but not human".

Of course synthetic skin was covering his new hand. What are you even attempting to get at?

I think Snoke is just an entirely new character, although I think it would be awesome if he was Plagueis I just can't see it happening.

Did see an interesting theory the other day on Youtube though that Snoke is Starkiller/Galen Marek, hence Starkiller Base but I doubt that even more than the Plagueis theory even though it's also a cool idea.

My head canon on the hand not having skin is that Luke had the skin removed to remind himself of Darth Vader, and what falling to the dark side would do to him and potentially the galaxy.
