So, ahem, why again are EP 2 Lightsabers bad?

I've been hearing a lot of people say that EP 2 lightsabers are bad, but I don't understand why. The sabers are great and smooth. Why do most people think EP 2 sabers are bad?

 

It does not gradient into the background, it simply stops. Light does not stop.

 

So did the other SW films have the gradient in their lightsabers?

^yeah, thats it.... just doesnt look right, and even if it did, which it doesnt, look better, it still wouldnt be true to the original, so its screwing the whole thing up....

Yes, light stopping is a no-no. That and the core is too sharp. It's not really a big deal, but did anyone else notice the tip is pointed?

 

I think they spent so much on Padme's dresses that they had to do the lightsabers in MS paint.

Do they use AE to make their sabers? From the photo's, it appear to be that they just didn't use a big enough feather or blur.

hahaha. That Dooku one reminds me of my first ever lightsaber fight - 15 seconds of mediocre whack whack before I cut the chicken-man's head off.

Seriously, that Dooku one sucks. Back in the day when mine looked like that, I did it in Photoshop with no knowledge of 'screen' or whatever. I just did a big red splotch, and a thin white one.

AH well. Let's hope they fix things by EpIII.

 

Call me nuts, but in the theater I was in, the lightsabers didn't look so glaringly bad. Not in some shots at least.

I'll have to admit, it takes a real nerdy eye to spot something like that.

ok guys, the sabers in ep 1 and 2 are ****ing mega, ok get over it , ok stop bagging what you all love, u saying you think ur crapy AE is better than the way the guy who make star wars is..... come on man, ep 2 sabers are sweet ok, and how cares how much they glow or gradient or what every......... just get over it guys,.... u make ur self sound really bad when are r debating the way a light saber looks.... man umm the quality of ep 2 is much much better then AE.

In comparison to the OT sabers, AE can do a way better job than was done in Ep 2.

 

It's only a matter of opinion. It's when the majority agree that it's taken as fact. So, Mr. Spell-a-Thon, you are quite clearly in the wrong.

they arent like any other episode's lightsaber, and they look too thin and sharp.

personally, i really love how they look just because they work on the screen/whatever medium you are viewing em on. i think they look cool too, but arent the same lightsabers that were once established.
