LA, CA So Cal Fanforce Summer Beach Party 8-12-2006

Sorry son, but I think we live in two opposite sides of the galaxy! In fact, I need to do the ol' Map Quest thing and figure out how to get there from way up here in the desert (Tatooine?)!

 

Actually, I can be your mapquest and help you out. Can you get to the 210 fwy from where you're at? If so, then you take the 210W to the 605S, then to the 405S, exit Beach, and then head south all the way to the end.

If you can't, then I think you would take the 15S to the 91W, then 605S then follow the rest of the directions from the above paragraph.

I've been out to the IE many a time, that's how I know.

 

An updated list of items, Directions, and maps has been put on the Planning thread. Please check for any last minute mistakes/stuff that needs to be fixed!

As for the directions, I'm assuming everyone in LA knows how to get to the 405, assuming everyone in the IE knows how to get to the <s>Satanic freeway</s> 91, and assuming everyone in San Diego knows how to get to the 5.

I'll try to be there early with crazybirdman and AboutaSith, but if anyone is worried about getting lost, PM me today for my cell number.

Arms look red but fell fine cos i drowned them in 30 then 50 spf!

Feet sting but it was worth it! i needed some color on my pasty white british skin anyways!

What happened at the BBQ. I showed up at 10:30 and parked near the pier. I walked both ways of the pier about a mile and a half each way. I must have walked by tower 11, 13, and 15 three times. I didn't see any banner for Fan Force. I saw a banner for athletics and OC singles, but no fan force. I had brought with me, the forks, knives, spoons, and even some sodas. By the times I was done looking for you guys, I was so tired, my family and I just hung out at the beach. I'm sorry, but I looked all over and coundn't find you guys. I even walked pass that beach thing they where having where they where selling things. If it was cancelled, I wish someone would have told me.

We were far back by the sidewalk, right in front of the bathrooms and a rental/surf shop. Back where the fire pits were. We had 3 blue EZ-ups right next to each other. I'm sorry you didn't find us!! Future hint: be sure to have at least one cell phone number of a member that's also going to the event. I had to call two different people in order to drive to the right place and then find everyone.

 

We couldnt find the banner either. There was many people. We parked at Tower 11 and then walked about 13-15, but no find. So we just hanged out for 2 hours it was getting way to cold and dark by the time we got there. Oh next time we'll see eachother. Hope LAFF had funn!!!
