LA, CA So Cal Fanforces beach day - August 12 in Huntington Beach

Hey guys. James (crazybirdman, CR of Orange County) tossed an idea out to me to see if there would be any interest in having a multi-group meet sometime this summer (meaning LA, OC, IE, and SD). Just a fun day of chilling at the beach, probably BBQ, some sports, etc.

We're seeing if there is much of an interest first before we start figuring out dates and such, so post if you're interested!

I am with you. I've been wanting to do a beach thing for a while now.

 

GMTA. I was going to put up a poll in the next day or so for my group as to whether they wanted to do a beach potluck or a park potluck, for August.

 

I'm sooooooooooooooooooooooo in for that! This time I'll BBQ the meat at the event so it's even fresher.

 

I'd be up for it as long as I don't have to work that day.

 

If I'm in town and Jay, JR, and SR go.

 

You just want to see me wet in my swim shorts.

 

I am feeling to fat to answer that this week. But, I've mentioned before, there's a real nice place in Marina del Rey that never used to be crowded, had restrooms & a small playground for the younglings, adequate parking & a short hike from some nice bars --- DB. (But, I haven't been there in a couple of years.)

 

Yea, greatly would I wish to enjoy a day in the sun with my fellow nerds! I love me some beach.

 

I believe the location will be closer to the OC only because it will be closer for the SD people to drive up and join us.

Glad to see there's an interest!! I'll start having James look for locations and we'll start working on dates.

 

I prefer OC beaches over LA beaches any way.

 

Huntington Beach, state side. (Yeah, yeah, I know the pier is over there on city side and all but the *bathrooms* are on state side. I don't do porta toilets!) Nice beach with lots of sand, BBQ pit area, and generally good waves, so long as those awful red tide conditions we had all summer last year are gone. Lifeguards are on duty if anyone is concerned.
