TV Discussion So...Darksaber or Ezra's Blastersaber...which is cooler?

Darksaber is just so cool as a concept. A black bladed lightsaber with distinct blade shape and sound.


Or Ezra's lightsaber...because pew-pew-pew....snap-hiss slash.

 

Forget lightsabers, magicksabers are where it's at.

Seriously tho...I'd take the Darksaber and its swooshy black asymmetric blade any day.

 

Dark Saber anyway of the week.

I mean its a black Lightsaber! wielded by two badass villains.

 

I seriously can't imagine anyone, even those who weren't fond of TCW in general, who could have any issue with Mother Talzin. Hers was really a cool character, and it obviously made Palpatine crap his pampers.

 

Darksaber all day everyday.

 

Every time I think about the darksaber and Maul, I think about Satine. That was a depressing episode to watch.

 

Darksaber is my pick. Ezra's saber is fine, but a saber actually shaped like a sword rules. It would be cool to see someone unearth that design and recreate it with a different color.

Banes Lightsaber is a saber staff version of the dark saber

 

That's cool, but I was thinking more along the lines of a current era force user and not an ancient Sith from when that style of blade was used.

Oo, tough... I'll go with the Darksaber. It just looks and sounds badass. Although Ezra's lightsaber is a twofer. I loved how Kanan used it in "Fire Across The Galaxy". On second though, I'll go with Ezra's lightsaber!

 

Would it be the blade, the glow, or both that's a different color? I'd love to see a different-color glow. I'd also love to see an Old Republic show or film where Darksabers are common.

The Darksaber of course. The Darksaber's fate is rather unknown I think as it was missing in the last panels of of SOD and Maul was supposed to have dueled multiple opponents with a duel bladed firesaber that Talzin gave him.

I still like to think he has the weapon, perhaps it was created with Maul in mind WAY before the time he finally was brought back. Still, Maul's double bladed lightsaber is iconic , perhaps they should make him create a new lightsaber using both the black blade and his red blade.

I like Ezra's lightsaber, captures the Rebellion feel. Functional, worn feel....

My vote is for the Darksaber though...

My vote would be for Ahsoka to have the inverted darksaber, all white with black swirls and what not. It would be in-line with her samurai aesthetic.

 

They've been giving lightsabers sharpened tips on and off for years though.

 

Not the flat blade shape though.

Darksaber. When I first saw that thing I let out a fan boy squeal that I haven't let out since I first saw Darth Maul's double bladed lightsaber in the TPM trailers. After we saw Maul's saber and Windu's purple blade, my buddy and I were saying once how cool it would be to see yellow bladed sabers ( which we not only got with Snips sabers in season 3, but the saber staffs used by the temple guards), and black bladed sabers( which we got in Darksaber).

On top the fan boy appeal the Darksaber is sleek, refined and it has a unique look to it. Plus there is the whole mythology behind it that Pre Visla boasts how his Mando ancestors stole it from the Jedi temple at the fall of the Old Republic.

Ezra's blaster saber is cool and all, and fits into the aesthetic of the OT era in which a Jedi weapon would be outlawed, thus leading the kid to improvise with something that would go by undetected by the bucket heads. But it still doesn't change the fact it looks like a staple gun I could buy at the Home Depot. The kind that would lead to an embarrassing injury if I were to try and cosplay with it.

 

A black lightsaber appeared in TFU back in 2008, the idea likely came from there.

An unstable lightsaber blade that sparkled was also in TFU, Kylo Ren uses such a similar blade.

 

Darksaber, if only because Maul used it, and not by that much.

You forgot to add these two bad arse canon swords along with Erza's and TCW Darksaber.
Then you have the blademaster from Toy's R Us.





Under this new canon, the lightsaber will be used in many new interesting ways. From Rebels, to The Force Awakens
