Could some one please explain to me what happens in that comic? ("Yhank the maker")
I've tried looking for it every where, and I AM willing to be spoiled until I find it. All I know is that it's supposed to take place some time during TESB, Right?

"All I know is that it's supposed to take place some time during TESB, Right?"

Well, before answering that question, you'll have to know about "Infinities." "Thank the Maker" was in Star Wars Tales, an ongoing comic series by Dark Horse Comics. Star Wars Tales is "Infinities." That means it is not officially considered canon by LFL. Or simply put, nothing "has" to follow it, and what occurs in it doesn't have to follow anything else - it's essentially an "alternate universe" story.

Now, even more interesting is the fact that being Infinities also doesn't automatically negate the story from happening in canon either. If a canon story does use "Thank the Maker," then we know that the canon story of "Thank the Maker" occurs exactly as the Star Wars Tales one shows. However, if something contradicts "Thank the Maker," then it's meaningless because it was Infinities anyway.

    Thoroughly confused yet?

    Nope, most definitely a guy.

However, I'm a fan of the original red-haired Emperor's Hand, Shira Brie. Hence the reason why my icon is a chick.

A more direct answer to the question as to when TtM occurs is Yes, the story happens as Vader is confronted with the blasted pieces of C-3PO on Bespin. Somehow, he recognizes 3PO and this promts a series of flashbacks between the timeframe during the best SW movie and the timeframe just before the worst.

EDIT: Maybe I should have said "fourth best," so as not to offend anyone. ;)

    ?SW Tales: Thank the Maker.?

At Cloud City, Darth Vader is preparing to spring his trap on Han and Leia when word reaches him that stormtroopers have shot See-Threepio into scrap. He studies the droid?s disembodied head?. and flashes back to when he first found the rusty skeleton of Threepio, nearly forty years ago in Watto?s junkyard. He decided he would take the droid home and reassemble him, piece by piece. Back in the present, Vader orders the droid destroyed.

The following day, Han, and Leia are captured. Vader is angered to learn that Threepio somehow survived his destruction order ? the Wookiee had pulled him out of the junk room. Another flashback ? Anakin talking to his mother about putting the wretched-looking droid back together. He wondered if Threepio was ?just like us.? He remembers Shmi?s words: ?Unless you?re prepared to care for something, you do not deserve to have it.? Haunted and saddened, Vader orders that Threepio?s pieces be given to Chewbacca ? ?I am giving the Wookiee what he deserves.? He then leaves to watch Han Solo be tortured?
(COMIC SHORT STORY ? Dark Horse Comics ? Ryder Windham ? December 2000)

:) Yes, I apologize. Looks like there's all sorts of offending going on here. This thread is a nightmare to TPM fans and women's lib activists. :D

"A lady is a woman who is never unintentionally vulgar."

It is just a killer link between the two trilogys that C3PO was made by Darth Vader. It showed that anakin could do good.

Genghis, you should have known better. After all, Mara's a chick, Shira Brie is most certainly a lady by comparison.

No offense meant to the ladies on the forum by that comment.

Hmm, I may have these names confused but, isn't Shira Brie the same character as Lumiya? If so then she is most diffinite a lady, considering how her title is Dark Lady. ;)

Same basic relationship as Anakin Skywalker and Darth Vader. Same person, just one is what they changed their name to after certain circumstances.
