We've all done it. Buy foodstuff you forget about until some time in the future ( like years). You decide to make something and say 'hey, I've got that' when thinking on the ingredients. You pull it out and look wondering just how old it might be. I was in the mood to put some cocoa in my coffee and was out of Quik. (don't judge ) I saw I had some Nestle Cocoa in the corner of the pantry and thought cool. Except it had expired. In December of 2002. yeah, yeah I know I should go through the panty more often. Guess just out of sight, out of mind. What's the oldest stuff you've found in your pantry?
i dont buy that cocoa mix would expire in any meaningful way. i say use it unless there's like fungus obviously growing on it or something
jeeps will be gone by then, so what i'll do is hold on to a twinkie AND a jeep, then trade both for something else down the line.
lol... that was supposed to go in the "what song are you listening to?" thread... but I'm going to leave it here.
I have a tupperware of leftover instant oatmeal in the freezer that's been in there a year. I was going to eat it. I was going to.
I usually get rid of stuff pretty quickly, but...My mom came for a visit and decided to clean out my cabinets. There were about 20 boxes of tea bags in there (different flavors, shut up), some of which expired in 2000.
Nothing that far expired in my pantry/kitchen, but I recently found some old Sudafed gel caplets that expired in 2002.
