Before - Legends "So Hot" a very short viggi to pass the time between posts Obi-wan/ Qui-Gon

Summary: In the heat of Fever.


Lightening boomed all around, illuminating the profound darkness of night, he was trying to run away from it.

It seemed to him that the bolts of lightening were pursuing him.
He turned to the right and the bolt seemed to sizzle past his head, hitting a tree in front of him.

The Majestic tree standing so tall and proud burst into flames, and seemed to engulf him in its fiery fury.

He rolled to the left and rose to his feet; the heat of the flames was licking at his back.

He had to get away, he just had to!. He was so hot, and the heat was choking him.
He heard a noise behind him and hoped with all his being that it was his Master coming to save him.

He slowed and turned to see whether or not it was his Master, but terror twisted his features as he saw vines protruding from the tree reaching out to grab him.

The vines grabbed his arms and then his legs, twisting and twining their long tendrils around his body.

He could not escape the heat.!!

The vines were part of the tree and they blamed him for letting the lightening bolt hit the tree.
They were suffocating him, pulling him back towards the burning branches.
He could no longer hold the scream that erupted from his throat.

He was screaming, he was falling, and then a blinding light made his eyes sting.

He opened his eyes to find his Master Qui-Gon, lifting him with gentle hands, soothing his distressed body.

?Padawan?, Obi-wan, you are safe, stop struggling. Be calm all is well?

?M-master the vines, the tree it is burning, it was so hot?

?It was just a nightmare my young Padawan you have been ill with Rhodian fever, you were fighting the fever to the point that the sheets were tangled around your arms and legs, and you thrashed so much; that you fell off the bed before I could get to you.

?Thank the force your fever has finally broken. You were very sick my Obi-wan.?

Obi-wan lay there for a moment and then he whispered. ?It was just the fever Master??

"Yes my Padawan."

?It seemed so real Master?

 

good way to pass time between posts
after just reading your last story post, it was very different to see a young innocent obi again with qui as his loyal master. though i enjoyed it just the same!

 

Aaaawwwww, that was very nightmare-ish (is that a word?). Poor Obi-Wan. Now, he needs a bowl of soup.

Obi-wan lay there for a moment and then he whispered. ?It was just a fever Master??

?It seemed so real Master.?

I loved thisl it was very eerie in a way. The flames reminded me of Mustafar, and the tree blaming Obi-Wan for allowing it to be struck by lightning reminded me of Obi-Wan's guilt over Anakin.
