ST So how much did Ridley/Boyega make???

You hear all these box office crushing numbers...well over the $2 Billion mark now....Disney is raking in the money. Then you hear rumors how significantly more Harrison Ford made compared to his fellow co-stars. Im asking just out of curiosity because Im not sure how it works in Hollywood. Do the actors get a cut of the box office? Or do they already have a negotiated deal in place for a set dollar amount? If Ridley/Boyega got screwed..,then Im sure Ep. 8 will make them damn wealthy.

 

I think it was 250k. They got bonuses once box office passed 1 billion.

 

I would do the movie for free... I mean it Star Wars... However I do hope they pay them well for the next couple now that they know it is going to be a hit (As if there were any questions about that lol)

 

They didn't get screwed, whatever happened; they got an incredible big break that paid way more than anything they've been in before

I wouldn't assume they'd get much in the way of that; you have to remember the terms on which the contracts would have been negotiated

Fair point. I guess the two things to balance are whether they should be paid based on the reputation/CV they already have, or on the fact that being in Star Wars will inherently make them very successful, and should therefore be renumerated as the stars they were guaranteed to become. I think the most likely option is that there is scope to renegotiate for future films

I'm pretty sure they have signed for the trilogy. Disney should be very happy with the great deal they got.

Daisy and Boyega should be happy too, as they are making their fame out of SW. I can see them having a better fate than EP I Anakin and EP II and III Hayden.

Hamill and Fisher probably got a very good amount, but Harrison Ford got LOADS of money.

 

Yes, I'm sure Daisy and John are happy with what they got, and future fame and success really seems to be coming with it.

And regarding Ford... yes he got a bunch. I think the confirmed amount was said to be "between $10M and $20M".

$25M for Ford was apparently refuted by someone at Disney, but nobody refuted something up to and including $20M.

Yeah... an insane sum, either way.

 

They are both actors being introduced in TFA and they got paid accordingly.
Ford is a huge blockbuster actor and likewise got paid accordingly.

I'm calm just can't believe some of these threads.

 

It's always interesting how people obviously read some of the details of a subject but somehow didn't read the rest. The first article I saw on this detailed everyone's pay or rumored pay, and the scale at which they were paid. Ford, Hamill and Fisher were on a "legacy pay scale" made for them, with Ford getting a lot more. There's a lot that goes into negotiating this, and it's not a matter of "fairness." I doubt Fisher and Hamill are complaining, or even anyone else.

 

IMDB says Daisy got $450,000 for the job, plus 2 points! Those 2 points have made her a multi-millionaire. And this is just the first one.

 

Yea, daisy or john aren't multimillionaires yet, hard to believe considering that's her first real big gig, while John has had a couple decent gigs before this.

250k is nothing to sneeze at for your first major role. And if they managed to get a percentage of the gross (no idea if they did), then they're set for a while.
