I signed up for the non-spoiler forums for a reason, but that doesn't mean I won't be spoiled at all.

Here is what I'm planning on doing, and I hope to stand firm to this. I love Star Wars and I love talking with other fans, this will make it almost impossible to avoid spoilers. So my plan is to alow myself to read or listen to spoilers moderatly. I want to know somethings, look at set photos, read some small insignificant blurbs from the script. I want to know things like if the Jedi Order is rebuilt and if Jedi Starfighters are returning (yes please.) Although there are lots I don't want to know, like the whole script, things that could potentially give away the whole movie like major plot point and random photos depicting main characters deaths, important scenes or certain mysteries the movie may reveal. So I'm going to try to stay away from spoilers except if they're small ones that most likely won't ruin the movie.

So what is your guys game plan when it comes to spoilers and how will you go about it?

This is a heated topic of debate in my brain. EP III I was spoiled. Not completely, but I went in with all the wild rumors that were floating around the boards back then. I remember being extremely disappointed when 75% of those rumors werent used in EP III. I think it tainted my experience in enjoying the movie.

So, I think I will probably go a bit past trailer #1 and then go spoiler free.

I will watch the trailers, and am interested in minor casting news. I don't want any other info

Same here. I want to see the trailers, but other than that I'd like the stay spoiler-free as much as possible.

I'll probably stop coming to places like this. Even with the no spoiler designation, the rules in which they define a spoiler are pretty loose. I think I'll avoid sci-fi and movie boards as a whole for awhile once things get heating up

I'm probably going to spoil myself the whole way without seeing the official clips from the movie. Trailers, cd, characters, basic plot etc.

I'll play it by ear. I want to know full cast and what characters they're playing and I'll definitely look at set photos and things like that but if it gets to the point where we're getting script leaks or major plot points then I'm out.

I'll stick around for casting news, watch trailers, and maybe sneak a peek at some behind the scenes pictures, but beyond that...no spoilers. Namely, plot and character backstories are what I'll be avoiding. I'm not going to read any threads that even mention 'plot'. I'm torn about the soundtrack, though. :( I REALLY want to hear John William's new music, but don't want to know the titles. If I could find a way to listen without knowing the order of the songs or what they're called, I'd jump at the chance. =P~

I was spoiled rotten for ROTS and, while I didn't enjoy the movie any less, there was no element of surprise. I knew NOTHING about Episode I beyond character names and what I could decipher from the first teaser. Naturally, seeing it in the theater gave me that sense of 'what the heck is going on? Where am I'? that people talked about when they watched ANH for the first time. I like being thrown cold-turkey into a whole new universe and time period. It's a lot more fun.

I'm interested in casting information and maybe some character names, such as if the Big Three are returning or not, if any EU characters are being used, if they are once again resurrecting a dead character ([face_plain]). I also might want to know a few planet names and the time frame--how far post-ROTJ are we looking at? Right now I'm only planning to watch short trailers, although I may change my mind on that.

I really don't want to bail on the site but I'll see how spoilerific it gets in the few months before the film.

Even if I did want to be spoiler-free which I don't, I don't expect to get through the next two years or so spoiler free. Something would go wrong for that. I look forward to seeing what does go wrong for me. Makes it more memorable.

I'll play it by ear for a while. Once production actually begins and real significant spoilers start coming out I'll stay out of the Spoiler forum. If there's a steady stream of official info, set photos and such I won't have much need for spoilers.

I'll start with the teaser and maybe stop there. Maybe the first trailer, maybe not. Other than that I want to be surprised as much as possible.

Honestly, I just haven't decided yet. I will definitely watch the trailers, though - definitely not missing out on those.

The cast, that's as far as it goes. I'm going to try to be strong and avoid the trailers. I'm 72.34% sure I can avoid trailers. I am 100% sure I don't want anything beyond that.

I'm going to watch the trailers once they come out, I guess, and I'm not opposed to hearing some casting news. I'm not opposed to universe-related spoilers either (e.g. timeframe, technology, etc.) But I don't want any story-related spoilers.

I'm going to watch the first couple of trailers but not the last ones. If Revenge of the Sith is anything to go by, the last trailers will just give you the entire film in 2-and-a-half minutes.

I'll pay attention to casting, but not anything from set.

Bound to get some spoilers from hanging around these forums, even if I stick to the NSA, but hopefully I can watch the movie and still be surprised.

I am going to aim for no spoilers. I consumed everything with Ep 1 and remember being awestruck when I first saw Darth Maul's double lightsaber. But that made me realise that I could get the same buzz for a whole movie if I "abstained" which I did for episodes II and III. So much so that when the Lucasfilm logo would appear on screen in the cinemas, I would leave the theatre and walk out of earshot. It was REALLY hard but so worth it. But I still remember that first glimpse of the double lightsaber and have regrets it was during a stupid TV promo rather than in the thick of the battle with Qui Gon and Obi Wan....

I've been sort of going back and forth about whether to indulge in spoilers or not, Roryrory, but your post is inspiring me to "stay strong" :p

The options are: I could spend the next few years watching blurred, scrambled porn and wondering what the real thing is like or I can go in the other room and have sex. :p

There's nothing quite like a new SW trailer. I'll have to decide whether or not I stop watching after the first 2 trailers, because, as noted above, they only get more spoilerific as they get closer to the release.

That being said, my expectations are much lower for the ST, and I would like to know at least a little bit about what's going on in terms of plot. I'm sure I'll see it regardless, but they could do so many ridiculous things I think I'd prefer to know the irrtating stuff before I go in. :p

I never thought I'd say this after my ROTS experience and how much money I saved by knowing I didn't want to see it, but I am to the point where I'd rather see the movie and walk out mad as hell than get a lot of information in advance.

Yea, my whole Spoil Free thing isn’t going to well, I already read two rumors about characters that are said to be returning for this movie. I guess those kind of rumors are ok, but I fear that once bigger rumors start to circulate I’ll fall into their trap and be eaten up by them. I’m really hoping JJ can keep things tight when it comes to secrecy!

I’m curious, what kind of rumors do you guys think would be safe to read or should stay away from?
