Star Wars: The Old Republic just won't quit. They released another trailer for an expansion on Umbara. Matt Martin told me to ignore it and FFG I have decided is both Legends and Canon, but it's still their. I guess it's Legendsverse and Canonverse and like a candle we just have to wait for the Legendsverse to burn out unless they do a parallel universe thing in the future. Who knows what Disney has planned..........

I've been thinking about a multiverse for far too long. We've got:
    -Original EU.
    -Disneyverse.
    -ANH Infinity timeline
    -ESB Infinity timeline
    -ROTJ Infinity timeline
    -TFU Dark Side ending
    -TFU 2 Dark Side ending
    -Battlefront II Separatist ending
    -Battlefront II Republic ending
    -Battlefront II Empire ending
    -KOTOR Dark Side ending
    -KOTOR 2 Dark Side ending
    And many more

They could continue Legends as an alternate universe-I'd be happy with that.

Why not? I'll always bring up the Ultimate comparison. Also they still sell EU books- new books on the shelves won't confuse anyone.

Yeah just say the Legends banner is a continuing alternate universe.

I mean Marvel and DC do it.

One thing I noticed is that in the last two expansions, TOR has started to incorporate nu-canon stuff. None of it is major (off the top of my head, only mentions to rathtars and Mos Pelgo on Tatooine from Aftermath) but it's funny to see an old EU source mining the new canon for concepts.

If the EU is revisited I want two things: Rogue One integrated, and The Clone Wars removed! Rogue One can fit with the same old formula.

Funnily enough read this while watching a video on how DC and Marvel are incapable of just dong alternate universes without making them share a status quo or cross over to a point of it becoming numb. But yeah totally agree, they should be able to just have to isolated universes. I am fine with just the Nu canon but I would enjoy more Legends though i know that is not gonna happen any time soon

If they do have EU material published side-by-side with the new stuff, they should do something different. Outside of the Han Solo comic with AG-37, all EU material should be either Legacy or Old Republic. Stuff the NuCanon won't or can't do.

I don't know what this is, but I hope it's canon.

You've really got two versions of EU -- Original Flavor Clone Wars and Retrofitted for TCW.

Yes, very good. They also got the Esprions from The Princess Leia series. In my opinion it's a big middle finger to hardcore fans like me. They made such a big deal with this reboot and yet they almost tease us and confuse us into thinking their is a connection. I personally don't like the concept of a multiverse. It isn't something I believe in scientifically and it basically negates the concept of the Force and destiny. The LucasFilm Story Group has to put their foot down. Discontinue the Old Republic MMORPG and fix FFG so it only contains canon content. And for that matter get rid of the Freemaker Adventures. It gives me diabetes.

If every time there's a retcon it's a new EU, there's endless EUs.

On the topic of Destiny and how it would work in a multiverse setting...
Bionicle has a similar issue. Destiny is a huge part of it's story yet alternate timelines still exist. Good gosh. But there's a simple explanation. In 'Alternate Timeline X', 'Character Y's destiny was wholly different from the start. Destinies never change. Their destinies were always different in their respective timelines. Simple?

I'd say FFG is largely the same thing. While they pull liberally from canon and Legends for the game setting, it's pretty clear the game is bathed in Legends and sprinkles in new canon for relevance.
