It makes me extremely sad that you just watched one for the first time ever. I hope it was Raiders of the Lost Ark. Better late than never, I guess.

No, it was The Temple of Doom. The rent-a-movie store didn't have RotLA.

It was still good though. :D

I'm curious, what's it like to live under a rock? [face_laugh] Seriously how come you've never seen an Indy film before?

I don't know. I guess I never thought of it.

    It's fun living under a rock! :p

Whenever I was thinking on renting or buying a movie, Indiana Jones always slipped out of my mind even though at home I always wanted to watch them.

Well at least you've seen one of the Indy flicks. You'll really love Raiders as it's one of the greatest films ever made.

Good to see you enjoyed Temple of Doom. It may not be the masterpiece Raiders is but it still succeeds as an entertaining slice of classic serial adventure. It's right behind Raiders in the series for me and doesn't deserve the constant bashing it's always gotten.

Yea. I think I might get the boxed set for my birthday or something because my Dad's seen them all and he kind of wants them too.

Well, try renting it, or something. It's sometimes regarded as the best IJ film.

You need to watch Raiders of the Lost Ark first. If you're not going to watch the first movie made, you might as well watch them in some strange order through time. Plus Raiders is the classic that made the sequels.

Never watched an Indy movie?! Wow. Yes, there are many funny moments in Temple of Doom. Like the dinner scene. :D But be on the lookout for Raiders

    I hope you got Widescreen.

Raiders of the Lost Ark is the greatest film. People have different tastes and favorites, but in terms of writing, story, acting, etc--this is the best one. The Kasdan script is brilliant.

Temple of Doom is next in my opinion. Not only is it the darkest, it also expands the world, story, and vision of the trilogy.

The Last Crusade is a great film, more funny then the others, but it doesn't top the other two in my opinion.

Even though Temple came out after Raiders, it takes place first. So by watching Raiders next, followed by Crusade, you'll actually be watching it in chronological order.

    Yes I did get widescreen.

There is no difference between the two versions though, right?

Of course there is. Widescreen gives you the picture as it was made to be seen. Full screen cuts off the edges in order to make it fit on your tv. It can really take away a lot from an epic movie like Raiders, Temple, or Crusade.

    "You have choosen wisely."

The should really call "FOOLscreen" Halfscreen because you'll only able to see half the film.

I got widescreen but my parents love fullscreen because they are old. They simply won't watch a movie if it is widescreen. I love the widescreen versions because of the reasons stated above, and that in the future all televisions will be widescreen.

If you play a widescreen DVD on a widescreen television, do you still get the bars on the bottom and top?

edit - By differences, I meant special features, etc. I knew that you see more of the movie with widescreen. That's why I got it! :p

I agree, Last Crusade is one of my favorite movies too. Connery was fantastic in it. But of course Raiders is great as well!
