JCC So i logged into AIM today...

...and I was surprised that it's still even a thing that people apparently use. None of my old JCC friends were online though, so I figure you all must be chatting with something else. Is the hat still a thing, or did facebook kill that?

Thanks! I was really just curious if anyone still hatted after hearing a joke the other day about how AIM still had millions of users. I might make a self centered, "look at me" thread later though.

I don't doubt that you'll have sorrow in your heart while ridiculing me. However, I do suspect that is just because said sorrow was a preexisting condition, and has little to do with me...

 

Why is your name "block"?

 

It was supposed to be a reference to The Seventh Seal, but I was drunk when I registered and forgot to capitalize.

 

AIM usage accounts for less than half a percent of all Instant Message usage on the internet. However, its still one of the leading IM clients among financial services professionals.

I don't think I could trust someone that still used AIM to manage my money.

 

The hat still exists, and actually we use AIM for some projects at my job. More of because it's a throwaway chat system.

 

I recall block. WB. I do not recall our interaction.

 

I'm glad you guys are still do your thing with the hat. There's something strangely reassuring about it's continued existence.

 

Damn it's been forever since I've seen that movie. Otherwise, I would've gotten the reference. Big Ingmar Bergman fan.
