Atlantic So, I'm listening to Christmas music...

I'm begining to feel a bit of the Christmas spirit now.

It was snowing tonight and a bunch of us have been taking advantage of the one hour that isn't quiet (8-9 pm) and were dancing around in the snow to some jigs, then we had pie. It was fun. And the snow was just so uplifting.

[Edit] There was also yesterday when after dancing in the quad I went caroling in Alex Hall with some of the guys from another bay, that was sweet, I feel bad I missed the caroling around the neighbourhood earlier, though.

Ah, the one hour non-quiet in the 23 hours a day quiet hours. I live on a QUIET, QUIET floor so one can't even tell the difference from regular quiet hours to 23 hours a day quiet hour.

Okay, so there's some snow and it's really cold, eh? But, I'm still not feeling it. I think I need to go Christmas shopping badly.

 

Just go dancing aroun like a looney, that gets you into the spirit of something at least.

I'll do that tomorrow evening after my exam. I like to call it my "Glad that's over" happy dance.

 

I wish I had an exam tomorrow but mine don't start till Thursday. So, I'm going insane studying for these damn things all day.

Twas the Nite Before Finals


T'was the night before finals,
And all through the college,
The students were praying
For last minute knowledge.

Most were quite sleepy,
But none touched their beds,
While visions of essays
Danced in their heads.

Out in the taverns,
A few were still drinking,
And hoping that liquor
Would get their brains thinking.

In my own apartment,
I had been pacing,
Dreading all those exams
I soon would be facing.

My roommate was speechless,
His nose in his books,
And my comments to him
Drew unfriendly looks.

I drained all the coffee,
And brewed a new pot,
No longer caring
That my nerves were shot.

I stared at my notes,
But my thoughts were all muddy,
My eyes went a'blur,
I just couldn't study.

"Some pizza might help,"
I said with a shiver,
But each place I called
Refused to deliver.

I'd pretty much concluded
Life is unfair and cruel,
Since our futures all depend
On grades made in school.

When all of a sudden,
Our door opened wide,
And Patron Saint Put-It-Off
Ambled inside.

Her spirit was careless,
Her manner was mellow,
She looked at the mess
And started to bellow:

"Why should us students
Make such a fuss,
About what those teachers
Toss out to us?"

"On Cliff Notes! On Crib Notes!
On Last Year's Exams!
On Wingit and Slingit,
And Last Minute Crams!"

Her message delivered,
She vanished from sight,
But we heard her laughing
Outside in the night.

"Your teachers won't flunk you,
So just do your best.
Happy Finals to All,
and to All, a good test."

 

That's hilarious!! Patron Saint Put-It-Off is visiting me right at this moment.

 

I'm not studying anymore tonight. It's making me crazy.

 

Oh, btw. I say those pretty stamps you were talking about! My Mom got some on a letter but they were ripped because Canada Post sucks.

Yeah, I didn't study last night at all since I can't study too much or I'll go bonkers. Hence why I'm up at 8 in the morning.

 

Ouch, that's early! I've got two exams tomorrow. At least it will be one day NOT spent at the library.

 

Yeah, I have to get up early AGAIN tomorrow cause I have to catch the bus home so I'm not stuck at school... slowly... going... insane.

 

Insane? I'm already there! I'm actually excited to write an exam tomorrow. How sick is that?

I'm dreading my oral exam on Friday.

Ooh!! An oral exam!! I did two of those last year for Beginner French! I did pretty well, I think. I got a A- in that class so...

Yeah, that is the sickest thing I've ever heard DB... and living at Dalhousie you hear some pretty sick things.

 

I feel much better now that I've written two exams...less crap that I have to remember. Three more to go!

 

So, instead of studying for my World Politics exam tomorrow I went shopping! w00t! I managed to finish my Christmas shopping and the gift wrapping for my family in one single afternoon. I then slacked some more this evening and attended my cousin's Christmas concert. I feel I need to follow all this Christmas cheer with something... but my parents haven't bought any egg nog. My Christmas cheer is slowly melting away again...

 

My exams are done...and now I'm all excited about going home for Christmas...and now it has given me anxiety.
