Char, NC So.. I've finally got my Navy stuff set

Yep. I do. I ship out November 25th, 3 days before Thanksgiving. 9 weeks of basic training, 10 days leave and off to Mississippi for my meteorology training at an Air Force base. Oh and I got 40k$ to spend after the Navy, too.

Just figured I'd tell someone

$40k? Damn, that's more than I make after four years of college...

Congratulations and good luck. We'll have to make sure we have plenty of meetings between now and November.

 

I can't touch the 40$k until after my time in the service... but hey, I can't spend it then, either. It'll go great for a house or something.

My pay sucks until after my schooling is completed. I'm going in as an E2 since I'm going to do some extra work around our recruiting office and all. So I'll be getting 1,200$ or so every other week. The pay isn't great for civillians, but remember, I get a free place to stay, reduced bills, everything is a lot cheaper for me... it's kinda like getting 2k every other week.

Plus, whenever I go up in rank, so does the pay

I'm so hyped... I just can't wait
