...the first (only?) American to be putting together their Star Wars Factfiles Binder together?

I never want to hear ever again in terms of Star Wars that us Americans have it better than anyone. Star Wars Factfiles has to really be one of the best quality reference products to come out in a long, long time. And for the longest time, we got screwed out of having access to this product. I can't say enough good things about it. It is not just a rehash of everything, it is like one giant super-high-quality, full-color Essential Guide to Characters, Planets, Technology, Chronology, etc. all rolled up into one.

We get new informtation mixed in with the old. We get clear, concise answers to a lot of things we've been talking about here.

    Man, I'm a happy person.

By the way, DeAgostini has now made it much, much easier for you to get it too over what I had to do. Now, you can call up their UK branch directly, and order it overseas. The number to do so is as follows (note, uses AT&T): 011 44 8707 299 399.

For those not wishing to use AT&T, the 44 is the country code and 8707 is the city code for East Sussex. Overseas orders must order it by groups of 10 issues per order.

actually 8707 is not the east sussex code, its a special 'local rate' number. Just thought id add that to make me seem clever :D

You only need to pay the converted rate plus an something like an extra pound bulk rate overseas shipping.

However, because they just recently now only do it in overseas bundles of ten issues per shipment, you end up paying the U.S. equivalent of about 17 pounds per pop. (It's like 1.67 pounds per issue.) Not too bad actually.

There's no real major "screwage" factor for ordering outside the UK. You just pay the extra overseas shipping and that's it.

Could you please do the math for us? Like how much it costs for 10 issues at a time with the shipping attached in american cash?

The cartoon with the little dog and the big cat? Grotesquely disgusting and disturbing... "It's log, it's log, it's better than bad, it's good!"

    What rolls down stairs
    Alone or in pairs
    Rolls over your neighbor's dog.
    What's great for a snack
    And fits on your back
    It's log, log, log!

    It's lo-og, lo-og,
    It's big, it's heavy, it's wood.
    It's lo-og, lo-og,
It's better than bad, it's good.

    Everyone wants a log,
    You're gonna love it, log
Come on and get your log,
    Everyone needs a log...

    BY BLAMMO!

Ah, back when TV didn't completely suck.

    Val...
I'll let you know when I get my bill. My problem was I did things rather... ahem... not necessarily the way I was supposed to, I presume. (But, since I've been trying to jump into things since they first announced Factfiles and that they weren't releasing it in the U.S. - it's been only the last couple of months I found a crack in the system.)

They had me on a per order basis. I got issues 3&4 and sent a bill. Then I got Issues 1&2 and sent a bill. I wondered what the heck I should do, since I knew American cash/check isn't probably good - and things were running weeks behind (I got the issues and bill several weeks past the date the bill was due due to overseas shipping time). So, I called them up, and found out what I was supposed to do.

The joys of trying to work around the system when they make things difficult. :)

So, as of yesterday, I got everything squared away. I've just now been charged for Issues 1-4 and a shipment of 10 for 5-14. When I get my credit bill and check the math, I'll tell you how much everything works out. A quick check shows it should all work itseld out to about $26 American for a bundle of 10 issues.

A side note, I have great respect for DeAgostini as a company.

Another side note. Mastadge is right on. Ren & Stimpy it is. The Happy Happy Joy Joy Song!
