Despite being given that paper on the left (would have needed those ID for orientation), and passing the background check (on the right, obviously), Target will not end up hiring me. I figured it wasn't a good sign that inquiries to the store always ended with the response "We've got to find the hours for orientation, then we'll call you" (after being told to wait for a phone call from the store in regards to orientation), so after calling again today and talking to management, I got their final word. Definitely got some bull**** runaround ("Oh, we're not hiring at the moment"), despite giving them information that I was told differently weeks ago.



Clearly I was foolish to have created this thread, thinking that this would turn out differently than past applications. So, the search goes on. Fitting way, I suppose, for this wretched year to end. Good luck/fortune and me simply don't mix.

Nah. Never give up! If there is a Starbucks near you, check them out. I've never worked in retail, but I have it that they pay well, have full benefits and promotions are regular.
