ST So, uh, where DID Maz get Luke's lightsaber?

I'm going to assume this won't get touched upon in the movies, so lets speculate about it here, how did she come across it? Why was Han even going there in the first place?

I'm going to assume she picked it up on the cloud city somehow. She seems to have a connection to smuggler types, so that ties her in with Lando. Maybe it called to her? Can the force imbue life to inanimate objects?

 

yeah it wont get touched on because it was another poorly thought out plot line that makes no sense - the light saber is now kind of like the ring in LOTRs? It calls out to people?? NEXT!

That would explain why Snoke looks like Golem - they must have forged Lukes light saber from the melted ring and now he wants his precious back!

Frodo can't throw the ring into mt. Doom and Carrie Fisher appears and bites his finger off.

 

Han went there as he believed she would be the most suitable person to bet BB 8 to the resistance without anyone knowing. It just so happened she also had a vault of Jedi collectables, a major one being Luke's saber.
I suspect that'll either be expanded upon in E8 or the EU Books/Comics

 

Why don't we think that we will ever know how she got it? Maz will probably tell Rey at some point.

 

Is Maz confirmed for 8?

 

The movies will tell us...some other time.

 

Was I the only one that cheer when her precious castle got destroyed? I freely admit I pulled for the First Order at the moment.
