You go skiing and let her get a massage at one of the resorts. That's my favortie thing. But then I'm not married...

Hmmm...sounds like you are married without kids yet?

Pre-kiddos we used to like to go to downtown Denver and hit a nice restaurant for dinner, get a hotel suite downtown, then the next morning walk down to the Denver Art Museum and spend the day there.

Now, with kiddos, we hit the zoos(Pueblo, Cheyenne Mtn.) or head to Denver to the museum of Natural History or Ocean Journey. Downtown Colorado Springs has some nice restaurants too.

The Cheyenne Mountain Zoo is AWESOME.

Garden of the Gods is AWESOME.

There's LOTS to do in Colorado, even without braving 25 north to Denver.

I think it depends on what you like to do as a couple, there are festivals for various things in this area, but usually not until spring or something like that. There is good hiking during warmer weather (or now if you are adventurous and enjoy occasional frostbite), Assorted concerts, plays, museums, game shops...

We don't leave the house much, so we aren't a good source for 'stuff' to do. :p

I-25 isn't THAT bad...except for the wandering deer herds at 4 am.

Aw c'mon...nothing like driving through a herd to wake oneself up while driving back from a rave party.

    As for what we do...hmm...

We play Munchkin with a couple of our friends. We'll corrupt Darth_Nast_T and Kaety eventually. I've been wanting to try out my Arkham Horror board game, too. w00t. I'd love to get an RPG going, but assembling a good game group that can meet regularly is impossible now that we're all grown up.

As for boys/girls -- there's golf, LANparties, scrapbooking, little crafty stuff, costuming/props, movies...conventions when they come around. Lots to do, really, but I don't think we've ever considered it "stuff that couples" do -- it's usually just hanging out -- some of us are married, and some of us aren't. RDT and I also play Galaxies (hey...just realized you asked the question about the dual core CPUs awhile back) with some of our RL friends on the Eclipse server. We're both 2 year vets with Elder Jedis, as are most of the vets who survived the NGE.

8-0 i play on eclipse too! (Jah'y Moonwalker)

unfortunately, my wife doesn't like star wars, so i'm alone with that. :-(

thanks for all of the suggestions so far guys. my wife isn't working or going to school yet, (she's waiting on paperwork for citizenship), so she gets bored and i feel bad for her.

i moved here back in nov 03, but i'm in the army, and i deployed in jan for a few months, than again in dec 04. about 3 weeks ago, i got back to the springs, and my wife moved here, and we just got all settled in again. it is so beautiful here, even if it seems dry, and we are planning on staying when i get out of the military in august, and going to uccs, or ppcc.

i'm leaning more towards taking an ROTC scholarship at uccs, and i'll probably major in some sort of engineering. that will mean more time in the army afterwards, but i'll make about twice what i do now, and i won't deploy again for more than 4 years.

Cool. Rotc is tough, but since you've already been in the military, shouldn't be too bad. :) Engineering is a good career. Been around them all my life (though, I'd never want to be one myself)...

More time in the military? What happened to the G.I. bill?

Or is it like tuition reimbursement where I work? "Yeah, we have it, but no, nobody can get it." [face_plain]

the g.i. bill is fine, but if i don't take rotc, i'll be stop lossed (ie drafted) this fall and sent back to iraq, even after doing about 19 months there already.

so, i just hope the crap is calmed down by the time i get a commission.

What do married couples do around here??

Has anybody mentioned co-ed nekkid paintball yet?

    Cat tossing?

    What about house monkey races?

I've heard rumors of one couple thats fortifying their home against zombie attack (never hurts to plan ahead)...

Ok, you get nekkid and I'll get the paintball gun. [face_devil]

Yes, he is great at cat-chucking...

I hope to God that we don't have house monkeys![face_worried] [or is that what I hear out in your shop?]

Yeah, the zombie couple haven't even turned on their pre-installed home security system yet...;)

Another thing married couples could do is to rent Evil Alien Conquerors and drink the beverage that is mentioned at least every two minutes while watching it.

Or you can grab your shot-gun and drive around Crowley County hoping for a prison break...that's what the neighbors do anyway...

Oh, come on, for once I was taking you LITERALLY! ;)

Which leads me to the other idea of what married couples do for fun around here...

well, it leads to little house monkeys...[face_mischief]

Of course, one other thing you can do for fun is to get yourselves a couple of laptops and have conversations on a message board...

    it's what we do. obviously.
