So, what imagery from AOTC stands out the most to you?

You're giving me the chills! That look just makes me wonder what the hell critics are smoking when they said HC was "Wooden."

 

So true.

 

Yeah, the bit when it looked like the Jedi were all going to be killed..and the little focus on Anakin where he brings his sabre over his head with "Oh well, **** it," look on his face..great moment.

 

I think there were many flashes, "images" if you will, that show great courage on Anakins part. These are what stand out to me. Easy to see where Luke gets it from.

 

I've got a couple.

I think it's when Anakin is walking to his speeder just before he finds Shmi... he looks just like Darth.

Boba with his pa's head.

Padme's midriff.

LOL! Great description of Anakin in that scene.

I also love the looks on Obi-Wan's face while he's talking to LaMa Su. You get those flashes of him going "What the ****!" but he manages to keep his cool. Just brilliant.

 

Agree with Shelley, I do.
Especially since he has the same icon as I. "great minds think alike."

I love the whole movie but the image that I LOVE the most, Jimmy Smits/Bail Organa's look of desperation,defeat,and dejection as he sees the army take of.

Too powerful that image is.

 

It's a shame Tyranus didn't have a more theatrical entrance..Maul had an awesome one, Vader had no fewer than three awesome ones...and here comes Mr. Tyranus, wandering down the hallways talking to some aliens..oh well.

I especially like the last one, due to a fan during the Midnight show yelling out at that part, "AND ALL HELL BREAKS LOOSE!"

Also, I hope someone can find pics of Dooku holding the Death Star hologram and when the Jedis charge at the Droid Army. Those are two great shots.

mate:" no the love story was fine, its jsut you know when anikin and that old man fight?"

me:" count dooku.."

mate:" yeah him, when they were fighting.."

me:" the lights flashing??"

mate:" yeah i felt dizzy and i felt like i was going to faint..."



i personnaly thought this was great( the seene) but it could get people seizures.

LOL at PLJ. Them 'seizure cartoons' was Pokemon, I think.
I love the way Anakin cuts the power cable during his duel with Dooku, leaving them in darkness (ultra symbolic), and then only the lightsabers show their faces.
Very. Massively. Cool.
Grilled-Sarlacc, love your "Vader Look" Anakin Pic. Chills, chills, chills.

 

I also love the look on Ani's face when he's interrogating Zam "Tell us know!" The first flash of Vader we see.

 

The wedding and Anakin's nightmare

 

I think the three scenes that stand out most for me where:

1) Just before Anakin rides off to find his mother and he is looking off into the distant (reminded me of Luke so much)...then when he and Padme hug and the way he walks towards the speeder - very Vader-like....gave me chills.

2) When Obi-Wan was looking over the balcony and we got the first glimpse of the "grand army of the Republic" - just the scene itself along with the music was awesome.

3) The look on Anakin and Padme's faces at the very end during the wedding - made me sad to think of what is ahead for them.

 

I just got home about an hour ago from seeing the movie for the 8th time. It was the first ever that I walked out at the end just saying "That was truly a beautiful movie." I had been reading this thread before going to see it, so I was looking for some of the specific images, and while doing that I became acutely aware of how beautiful this movie really is. That's all.

Good post, I think I would make a suggestion for you to check out the (5 great scenes directed by GL) thread.

As a matter of fact, I talked about that cloud scene on Naboo there, I am glad someone else noticed this too. but besides that, I havesome scenes I talk about, and PadmeLeiaJaina and Maxchwie really have some very excellent depth into symbolism o these scenes, It is great to read. go check that out!

I liked so much of the imagrey it is just amazing. but ehre are some more.

I loved overall how the color tones from the beginning to end got from misty to light to dark, and mainly it was when the mother died did most of the rest of the movie seem to have these dark undertones, the reds, oranges, dark purples etc... used in all the scenes thereafter.

I would also like to throw in a coule from the other movies

I loved the images in ESB when luke went to first meet vader, in that steamy room witht the reds and dark blues with the silliouted by the back figure of Darth vader, saing "welcome young skywalker" ooh, what a way to meet a guy, eh?


also in ROTJ,all the scenes at the end with Luke, Vader and the emporor, the imagery there is incredible as well
